The mad sounds of the city flooded into her perception as the doors to the bullet train opened. Rise emerged with the rest of the crowd, dressed in thick sunglasses, a wide brimmed hat, and a long overcoat. She wore her typical orange holter top and white khakis underneath. So far her little disguise was a total success!
Much as she loved the country, there was a part of her that missed the bustle of the big city. Shopping, glamour, bright lights, the hum of a million people rushing in every direction. Rise had grown up a country girl, her life full of quiet and mundane happenings. When she began her modeling career she had been in awe of the big city. No amount of show business could totally erase that simple delight and love for the city and the crowd. Much as she valued her time with the Investigators and her family she dearly missed the pleasure of strolling down the boulevard of a busy street.
"Sooooo....now that I'm here, what shall I do?" Rise asked herself, her eyes dancing up and down the street.
Shopping was always a popular pastime. Trying on clothes and the thrill of finding a valuable purchase were near and dear to Rise's heart, teenage sterotypes be damned. Perhaps something sexy to flaunt in front of Yu and the boys? Maybe something that would finally turn Kanji's head (seriously, what was up with that guy?). Maybe a new swim suit?
She suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. A familiar face stared enthusiastically back at her from a prominent billboard. "Kanamin Kitchen! Performing one night only! Feast your eyes on these delectable morsels as they serenade you toward your dreams" declared the poster under the image of Kanamin Mashita and her crew of performers. Rise had to laugh. Not too long ago Kanmin had been her coworker, a junior member of show business who looked up to her as a senpai and a friend. When Rise had quite being Risette the studio poured all their resources into Kanmin and her meat themed production. At one point Rise had been jealous of the attention the new girl was receiving. Okay, maybe she was still a LITTLE jealous. But she also admired how far her old friend had grown while Rise was on hiatus.
"In more ways than one, apparently. That has to be plastic surgery. There's no way those things are real! She could give Naoto a run for her mammaries." Rise thought, staring at the chest of her pseudo rival.
Hmmmm....she might just be able to grab a ticket if she was lucky. Maybe she should check out the concert? Nobody was gonna notice her in the dark and the crowd.
