The fan takes your arm off at the shoulder, but...

Your fingers snag the end of the edge of the notebook and you draw back as quickly as you can but to no avail. Though you manage to bring it a few inches closer, the fan's blade was much quicker than you anticipated, and snagged your arm and effortlessly cleaved it off two inches down from your shoulder. "Drat." You say in mild annoyance, having no sense of pain and having lost nothing but time. You begin regenerating the limb to have another go, getting only as far as covering the stump in skin, the first step of the process, before you stop at the sound of Brad's sarcastic slow clap.
Brad laughs "Good luck dealing with Ginny when you tell her about how YOU stole her notebook! I feel bad for you, I bet she's a crier." He joked.
"What?!" You angrily shout. "You never said I only had one chance! I thought I could keep going until I gave up!" You said, the rules to this bet being far vaguer than was ideal.
Now it was Brad's turn to be angry. "No way, that would be way too easy for you! Hell you could just keep infinitely spawning limbs until you jammed the fan at that point!" He countered. That was actually a pretty good idea and you're surprised you didn't think of it first. "No, that was your one chance!"
"How about this." You say, not willing to give up your favor so easily. "One more chance. I've still got one grabber left, don't I?" You say, flexing your left arm.
Brad hesitates, but in the end he honestly thinks you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting it anyway. Plus if you did miraculously manage it he would get his hands on the diary, which is what he wanted in the first place. It was a win win for him. "Alright stumpy, one more shot."
You limbered up as you studied the situation, breathing more heavily in anticipation. The fan was quicker than you thought and you were using your off hand making the situation more dire, but on the plus side you managed to move the book a few inches closer with your right arm and luckily the fingers lost their grip on the book when it lost connection so you wouldn't have to pry it out of your cold dead hand. Right as the blade was in front of the gap you moved, sliding your hand in and wrapping your fingers around the book and withdrawing your arm as quickly as you could...
