This choice: Tyler tells Annabelle about the medallion • Go Back...Chapter #4Tyler tells Annabelle about the medallion by: Michelle   Tyler excitedly ran downstairs to tell Annabelle what happened, “I did it! The Oak tree is back!”
Annabelle was confused, “What do you mean? The Oak tree has always been there?”
Tyler started talking fast, “No it wasn’t! I just made a wish and changed time! I was in 1970 and was in Ted’s body! I only had 5 minutes and I managed to change the future! I did it! The Oak tree looks amazing now!”
Annabelle laughed, “Do you realize how crazy you sound right now? You just time traveled?!!? And changed the future?!? Did you hit your head in the attic or something?”
Tyler was adamant, “I swear it worked! You must not remember the tree stump that was there before. To you…it has always been a huge beautiful tree! That’s because you weren’t there when I made the wish. I’ll bet only the people that are with the medallion when the wish is made ever remember what happened!”
Annabelle looked at the huge Oak tree outside and asked, “So you are telling me that tree used to be a stump?”
Tyler nodded, “Yes! I went back into the past as Ted and chased the tree service away that was going to cut it down!”
Annabelle started to understand things, “That would explain how both of us have episodes now and then. Sometimes it is like our personality changes and we are different people. Remember when you moved the pole on the barn to prevent a lightning strike?”
Tyler nodded, “Or when YOU suddenly left one night and gave CPR to a stranger!”
Annabelle smiled, “Wow! Maybe this medallion really works! The next owners of this house must have taken over our bodies to change the future too!”
Tyler agreed, “We need to do another test to figure this out!” Tyler opened the dusty box and pulled out the medallion. He explained, “Until we know what we are doing…Don’t make a huge wish. Just small wishes so we can learn how this works. We don’t want to risk changing the future dramatically so things are completely different. Let’s start with something small and build our way up. Is there anything around the house or property that you’d like to change?”
Annabelle giggled, “There is a huge scratch in the spare bedroom floor that I’d like to see gone. I wonder how that ever happened?”
Tyler smiled, “Go ahead and make the wish! Let’s both touch the medallion so we both travel back in time. We can work together to change the future!”
Annabelle nodded as they both held the medallion, “I wish the huge scratch in the spare bedroom floor was gone…”
Moments later, Annabelle and Tyler’s point of view changed. They were both in new bodies standing in the spare bedroom sometime in the past. Tyler was wearing a 3 piece suit and was holding a cane. He looked down at his aching body and knew he was an old man. By judging the clothing he was wearing, it was somewhere in the 1930’s. His back and legs hurt as he used the cane to steady his body.
From across the room, a woman’s voice started laughing, “Wow! This is crazy!” Tyler looked over to see a maid dressed in a conservative cleaning outfit appropriate for the time period. Tyler asked, “Annabelle? Is that you?”
The maid giggled, “Yep! And you must be Tyler!” Annabelle ran her hands through her long black hair and felt her feminine curves. She looked in the mirror on the wall smiling, “Wow! I’m like 20 years old! I’m beautiful!”
Tyler groaned as he steadied his body with the walking cane, “Must be nice! I fell like I’m a 100 years old now!”
Annabelle smirked, “You aren’t that old. I’d say you are in your late 80’s at the most.”
Tyler took a step and used the cane to help him move, “Last time I time traveled I ended up as a much healthier and stronger body. This is just painful!”
Annabelle spun around in her maid uniform giggling, “I guess it’s the luck of the draw!”
Tyler looked at his watch, “We have 4 minutes left. We need to make sure the huge scratch on the floor doesn’t happen!”
Annabelle suddenly pointed to Tyler’s cane and yelled, “Don’t move!” Tyler tried his best to stand still with his old-man body. Annabelle ran up and grabbed the cane away, “Look! The soft end of your cane just broke! If you would have taken one more step it would have carved a line into the nice wood floor! That’s why we suddenly were transported to this exact time!”
Tyler nodded, “Good catch! I guess whoever’s body I’m in right now was responsible for causing that huge gash in the floor!”
Annabelle pushed a chair up to Tyler and giggled, “Need a seat old man?”
Tyler sat down with a groan, “Thanks! You have no idea how much this body aches!”
Annabelle wigged her chest back and forth laughing, “I’ve never had boobs this big before! This is kind of fun!”
Tyler would have liked to watch the sight of a beautiful woman bouncing her boobs up and down. But his old man’s body could barely look up.
It seemed like forever, but the 5 minutes were finally over. Tyler and Annabelle were back in their normal bodies in their normal time-frame. They both ran to the spare bedroom to see the huge gash in the floor was gone! Annabelle smiled, “Wow! We did it! That wasn’t too hard!”
Tyler nodded, “Easy for you to say! You didn’t have to be an elderly weak man for the last 5 minutes!”
Annabelle laughed, “This Time Travel Medallion will be fun! Depending on the wish we make, it looks like we will end up in the bodies of the people who can change the future! That’s why I ended up as the maid and you ended up as the old man with the cane. Together we were able to change the series of events that caused the scratch in the floor! Can you imagine who we will be next with our next wish? We should set the timer for longer next time so we can actually experience the new bodies we are in. I would have loved to walk around as a 20 year old again for a little longer than 5 minutes!”
Tyler held up the medallion and said, “We can set it for any amount of time we want. The medallion will place us in the past so we have enough time to change the future.”
Annabelle nodded, “Okay! Let’s go for an hour this time! What wish should we make?”
Tyler was surprised, “An hour? Are you sure you want to walk around in somebody else’s body for an hour? All we need is a few minutes to change the future?”
Annabelle giggled, “Why not? It would give us more time to understand the previous owners of the house. There have been tons of families that have lived here over the years. This house is 300 years old. What’s the point of going into the past for just a few minutes? We may as well enjoy ourselves for a while as we change the future!”
Tyler nodded, “Okay. Let’s do it! But I better not end up as an old man again and have to spend an hour with an achy body!”
Annabelle joked, “At least you didn’t end up as an old woman!”
Tyler’s eyes got wide, “Wait a second! Do you think we could end up as the opposite gender?”
Annabelle shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t see why not? Depending on the wish we make, it might entail one of us becoming a member of the opposite sex to change the future.”
