There is no time to waist. As the King prepares for his safety he also prepares for his Queen and two daughters. He must put his trust into those who serve him. Leaving his heir to take his place was something he could have second guessed, but it was his duty and at some point his son had with hold the Family name.
"Be sure that the Queen and my daughters are ready for our voyage. I can't have them here if something were to go wrong, and I have a feeling dark times are upon us."
The family care taker didn't look so eager, "You sire, I would like to bring something to your attention. Claurice being your oldest daughter would like to stay behind. She feels her brother needs her strength and moral support."
"I for bid it! She is a woman and there is no woman that take charge of what is about to happen. She will be killed! No! She will come with us."
The young adviser felt there should be no need to push it but how was he to tell the princess of her father's decision. "Yes, your sire." He did his bow and moved aside, allowing the King to pass through the corridor.
Caurice was fuming in her room. There had to be a way to convince her father to leave her behind. She was smarter than her brother and knew alliances that could save them from a terrible fate. The only thing left to do was to face her father and tell him what she knew. He would have no choice but to allow her to stay. Her brother was weak and only afraid of dying and without any knowledge of alliances or quick planning they would be doomed for sure.
