You are a simple but humble farmer in the land of giants. You continue to make crop after crop year after year. Yet despite your efforts you have never really been one of those who struck it rich. The King and queen of your land have hardly ever heard of you, and you live upon the outskirts of town. Most of your kin notice you because of your lack of expensive clothing. Many of the farmers of the past have met and sold their land to their king making themselves richer than your average farmer. Despite the many who have done this, you would never do such a thing as your land is all you have ever known.
It is where you met your wife who supports you and your endeavors. As a giant your wife is someone who is a great warrior once, but she retired from that profession the moment you and her married. Despite her being a warrior it had never brought her happiness. At least not the kind of happiness that comes with having a family. You also have two kids both of them are still growing but you love everyone in your family. While you can't afford even most of the toys around town it doesn't stop you from making a few of your own.
You continued to till the soil and plant the fields as well as keep your land. Recently however the buying out of the farmers land was suspicious to you. Not only because they gave up their land to the king, but also because recently you heard some disturbing rumors. The rumors suggest that the king has become enchanted and wasn't acting like himself. You never knew the king, but from what you have heard he was a good man.
There are many stories in the land below the giants of King and even queens becoming enchanted, or worst put in to some kind of dark curse. You didn't know much of these stories though and have always thought of them as just stories. A man with a uniform bearing the king's seal approaches you as you work the field.
" I hear you have yet to sell your lands, despite the rewards of doing so I humbly ask that you please do so and you will be set for life. So please sell your land to king understood?" The man asked.
" I will not. It is my land with my wife Sarah, and my two children Christina and Jack. We will continue to live off this land as well as own it." You replied to the man.
" What a fool you are! You could have a good and easy life and yet you choose rags over riches, I heard the story about you refusing to sell your land. But to think you were this much of a fool. I came to offer you once last chance, however it appears I have just wasted my time. I am feeling a bit generous so let me put it in another way, you will sell your land or you will be charged for treason." The man demanded. Yet you couldn't understand why someone would want your land so badly, after all it wasn't the most fertile of crops and certainly not the richest. You couldn't figure out but despite that you wouldn't let someone bully you off your land not even if it meant being marked for treason.
" A shame you would misuse the law just to get your way. However if that is what you desire then I will refuse to sell the land even more. For I am not guilty of treason and you have no proof of such accusations." You said firmly as you watched the man as he finally realizes that you were right about that. He can't just accuse you of that just because you refused to sell your land however you also feared that he may do something drastic to make it come true. For now you watched as he reluctantly left the field and gave you a look that told you that this was not over.
