A few minutes later you follow Willy upstairs and go to his room. You see him looking at clothing. But he was doing it in a way that was unusual for him. He would take a shirt and pants out of his closet and then instead of putting them on, he would hold the shirt and pants in front of him and look at himself in the mirror. He would stick his right foot out to get a better indication of how it looked.
When he saw you he said, "Hiya Sweetheart. What can I do for you?"
"Well," you said. "I know how much you want tonight to work out and I thought I was a little short with you down stairs. I wanted to let you know I won't do anything to ruin your big night. And if you need anything let me know."
Willy bit the right side of his lip and looked up to the ceiling. Then a moment later he said he looked straight into your eyes and said, "No Honey, I don't think so, but you are such a sweety for asking. Here give me a hug." Then it occurred to you (as you gave your brother a hug) that it wasn't just the feminine mannerisms that were transferred to Willy but all of Mom's mannerisms. Willy wasn't calling you 'Squirt' anymore, he was calling you 'Sweetheart' and 'Honey.' He was trying on clothes like mom did. He even had her way of biting her lip and looking up to the sky when thinking. You wondered if he would sit down to pee. But as far as you knew he now had all of Mom's mannerisms, even the verbal ones. Willy would never have called you 'a sweety' before today. He was even tapping his foot nervously like Mom does.
You thought, that in many ways Willy was acting so much like mom, maybe she should be married to dad and Claudia should be 'Mom's girlfriend'. "Hey that's a great idea," you thought.
"Oh, there was one other thing, Mom wants to ask you something down stairs," you told Willy. So you followed Willy down stairs and made the mental switch. Now as far as Willy and Ellen knew (and soon the rest of the family when you found them). Willy was married to dad. He was a wife (although not a woman) and mother to three kids (you, Maggy and Ellen.) Ellen who was still a forty-four year old woman was going steady with Claudia who was her girlfriend. She hoped to marry the girl someday.
You noticed that Willy's foot stop tapping. He wasn't nervous anymore since this was Ellen's big event (girlfriend meeting family for the first time) not his. Annoyed at you for wasting his time, Willy went back upstairs to change although the need to find the perfect outfit wasn't as great anymore. You wondered when the day was over (and if you didn't change everyone back), if Willy would be sleeping in dad's bed tonight. Willy believed now that Dad was his husband after all.
