"Erin, plot a course for Giglin space." You said confidently. "It might be risky, but scouting their territory would be the fastest way to meet them. Do we have any information on a Giglin homeworld or capitol?"
"No, like I said, the Ermosi barely have any information as it is, and anyone who has reportedly visited has not ventured back. I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, pilot." Erin, although an AI, seemed rather worried. Nevertheless, your mind was made up. You had contingencies put in place if anything were to happen to you, but you were hoping this first contact would go smoothly.
"I know it's risky, Erin, but I feel this is the best way." You stated. "If something happens to me, follow Protocol C24A7, and report all details in a hostility report to the Ermosi. If this is a mistake, the least we can do is help others avoid making the same one."
"As you wish, pilot. Setting a course for Giglin space. Please strap in for departure," Erin commanded. You quickly made your way to the Captain's chair and buckled in. After a few moments, your ship vibrated steadily, and before you knew it, you took off at light speed. The G-force rattled your body, but it wasn't so intense as to cause any real disorientation. The effects faded after a minute or two, and after about twenty minutes of light speed travel, your ship came to an abrupt halt, making you quite glad you were buckled up. You unbuckled and stood up to take in the view of supposed Giglin territory. You were quite surprised to see several fairly small planets. There were too many to count, and there's no telling if any of them are even inhabited. You were still somewhat far away from them, but if you had to approximate, you would say they were roughly the size of Mars. Strangely enough, they all seemed to be about the same size, and they also shared the same Burgundy color.
"Wow, Erin, where do we even begin?" You questioned. There were so many planets, searching them all could prove quite time-consuming.
"Well, we could jump from planet to planet to do a proximity scan for any signs life. Or, we could touch down, and you can search the planet on foot."
What happens?
