Unique Vegetation

All of a sudden, you feel something brush against the side of your leg. You look down, seeing what appears to be a plant. Before you can bend down to get a better look at it, the plant comes up and rubs against your stomach, creating a tickly feeling. “Eep!” you squeak as you back away in surprise.

“Are you okay, captain?” Erin asks through the earpiece.

“Yes, just a little surprised,” you respond, somewhat embarrassed at your reaction to the tickling. You walk around the plant and keep going into the forest. Suddenly, you feel more of the plants brushing against your legs. You start to move away, but before you can get too far, something wraps around your ankle, tripping you. You land on the ground face-first and roll over, deciding to take a minute before you try and get up. While you are on your back, another vine wraps around your other ankle, and as you begin to panic, two more vines wrap around your wrists, trapping you in their grasp. “Erin, I’m trapped! I have vines that are wrapped all around my limbs! Can you help?”

“Captain, I’m afraid the only thing you can do is wait,” Erin notifies you. “It looks like those vines that have trapped you are called tripper vines. They trip a victim and then secure them on the ground with most of their tickle spots exposed. After a couple minutes, feathery plants, called tickle flowers, reach over and commence tickling the victim’s entire body. The good news is that tickle flowers only work for five minutes before they stop tickling, and trip-for-tickle vines unbind the victim right after the tickle flowers cease. The bad news is that you’re going to get tickled for a little bit, and if you’re really ticklish, it could be torturous. By the way, I never asked you this, but how ticklish are you?”

“Let’s just say that you might want to turn the volume down,” you worriedly admit as you see something leaning towards you. Five seconds later, tickle flowers hit all over your body, with concentrations in your armpits, tummy, ribs, and feet. “AHAHAHAHA!” you scream in hyper-ticklish laughter as the flowers tickle all over your body. Since the suit you are wearing conveys touch very well, it feels as if you have no protection at all. You feel the flowers teasing the pit of your armpits, and you try to jump, but are stopped by the tripper vines. Unable to escape, your extremely ticklish body squirms around as much as the vines will allow. The tickle flowers continue their relentless work, exploiting your sensitivity and making you appear very weak. “MAHAKEHAHA IT STAHAHAHAP!” After two minutes, the tickle flowers go into your worst spots, your bellybutton and your toes, creating more intense feathery movements on these spots. “NOHOHOHO MOHOHORE!” you yell in ticklish agony. Your sensitive body can hardly take any more, and following four minutes of the tickle torture, your laughter gets so intense that it turns silent, and your lack of energy stops your squirming. One minute after this, the tickle flowers cease their effort, and the tripper vines uncurl from your wrists and ankles. Finished with the torture, you hurriedly get up and move away from the tickle site.

“Are you a little ticklish?” Erin teases.

“Quite so,” you reply matter-of-factly. You head deeper into the forest, wary of tripper vines, and eventually…
