"Gary!" Pete said, happily surprised, "Oh man, I haven't seen you in forever!"

"Yeah, I know," Gary responded with a tinge of guilt. "Been pretty busy with the swim meets, and other nonsense. But most of that stuff is out of the way, so I was hoping I can get a little Pete time in my life. That's why I'm out here in the first place, I was hoping I'd run into you on your walk home."

"Geez, you must be desperate," Pete laughed, "What, those cool guys on the student council aren't enough for you?"

"God, don't get me started with guys," Gary sighed, "All they care about is appearances and shit. Come on, man, I spend all my times with boring people, please hang out with me."

"Gary, chill," Pete put his hand on Gary's shoulder, "You know I'm down for whatever. We can hang any time."

"Well it's cool you said that, because I have proposition for you," Gary explained, intriguing Pete, "So do you remember that essay contest a month ago?'

"Oh yeah," Pete remembered, "It was like some national thing. I wasn't really interested in it, though. But I bet you were. So what, did you win?"

"I sure did," Gary proudly announced to the unimpressed Pete, "Wasn't that hard. Just wrote the usual sad story about a family member dying. People love that stuff. Anyways, a month happens and I get a letter in the mail. In it was the usual congratulatory stuff, but tucked inside the envelope was also the prize for winning the contest. The contest was very vague, and they never fully disclosed what the prize was, so you can imagine how surprised I was when I got a free trip across the world,"

"Woah," Pete said, "Not too shabby. Did you come to brag about it?"

"No, Pete," Gary shook his head, "It came with with two tickets, saying that I'm more than welcome to bring a friend. And it's either you, or the guy who spends his days kissing the principals ass. You wanna come?"

"Uh, Hell yeah! Nothing wrong with free vacation!" Pete happily exclaimed, "Where we going to?"

"It's a surprise," Gary chuckled, as he walked away, "Meet me at the airport tomorrow at noon and will be off,"

...

"Wow," Pete exclaimed as he watched the clouds pass by his passenger window, "It's so beautiful out there!"

"Huh, what?" Gary was dozing off before his friend woke him up, "What's beautiful? The clouds?" Gary leaned towards the plane's window, "I guess so. Kind of get used to it after as many planes I've been on."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot I was flying with the famous Gary Wallace," Pete said sarcastically, "Of course such drab and boring things as clouds could entertain a man of such stature."

"Oh, shut it," Gary chuckled, "Don't forget who brought you on this trip in the first place. If it wasn't for me, you'd be stuck back in town, playing video games, like you always do."

"Probably true," Pete smiled at his good luck, "I do appreciate this, Gary. Thanks, man,"

"Don't mention it," Gary said, snacking on some complimentary peanuts, "This is gonna be our time, dude. No school, no sports, no parents, just you, me, and any babes who cross our paths!"

"Yeah, babes," Pete rolled his eyes. Pete never quite having the same luck with women as Gary did. Well actually luck had nothing to do with, Gary just had much more confidence in himself and had no problem approaching any member of the opposite sex. Being one of the smartest and most athletic kids in school didn't hurt either. Pete, on the other hand, tend to keep to himself and was shy around girls. Having barely ever kissed a girl, he could barely compare to Gary seemly endless list of girlfriends.

"No, I'm serious," Gary insisted, "It's babe time. Been way too long for you not have any action. Now is the time, my friend. And it's the perfect time to do so,"

"What makes you say that?" Pete asked,

"Well, because I think I know what your problem with girls is," Gary explained, "The problem is you spend all your time pining over girls in highschool, and that's nice and all, but those girls have none you your entire life. They know all about you already, like your personality, or how smart you are, or like that time you shit yourself in fifth grade."

"Dude! There are people around us," Pete said, trying to hush his friend, "So what's your point, other than bringing up my painful childhood?"

"What I'm saying is that it's better to start with someone new," Gary said, "A new face, someone who has no idea who you are. That way you can be more prepared what their first impression is going to be. Plus, we're hundreds of miles away from the old hometown, so there's a pretty good chance you'll never seem them again. That means if you blow it with any girl, at least you don't have to see her the next day."

"That..." Pete thought over what his friend just said to him, "That makes a lot of sense, actually. But still, I don't know about all of this."

"I'm telling you, Pete. You need this." Gary became adamant, "You don't know what it's like to look over the classroom and see one of your best buds brooding in the corner. I see someone I care about get depressed and stressed out over the dumbest things. Let yourself relax for once. Let me do this one thing for you, it'll make you feel better in more wyas than you think,."

"Look, Gary," Pete sighed, "I really do appreciate the offer, but..."

"No buts!" Gary interrupted, "I hereby swear that I will do everything in my power to get you laid on this trip. It's a promise. I can't take that back."

"Well, if you insist," Pete laughed as he gave up, "It's a promise?"

"A promise." Gary smiled, "I can't go back on those. Not my style."

"Well I guess it's happening then," Pete rolled his eyes once more, "Anyways, You still haven't told me where we're going. Where the hell is this plane landing, dude?"

"Well it was going to be a surprise, but I might as well tell you now," Gary shrugged, "We are going to a....
