Royalty, the highest rung of the social ladder in any human nation. Members of the royal family are educated, pampered, wealthy, and respected. The word of a royal is law, and image is everything. No proper noble would dare be caught in anything other than exquisite garments of the highest quality and value, lest their vassal lords or the common peasants think less of them. Indeed, being caught naked might be one of the worst things that could possibly happen to a member of a royal family.
Three royal human women are destined to learn this fact the hard way.
Princess Arianne, the epitome of a proper royal lady. Educated in all the ways of etiquette and politics, Arianne possesses a sharp mind and looks befitting a woman of her station. Long golden hair compliments her clear blue eyes and flawless pale skin, while her well-maintained figure is clad in gowns and dresses that would put any other woman to shame. After all, one must be the spitting image of royal perfection when they are the heir to the throne.
Princess Sharon, on the other hand, is the opposite. A mere two years younger than Arianne, the nineteen year old princess chafes under the expectations placed upon her. Dresses feel awkward, and diplomacy seems boring and pointless. Far better to wear armor and settle matters with a sword, so far as Sharon is concerned. Thanks to some "persuading" of the captain of the guard, Sharon has learned how to handle a sword, and has started to fancy herself an adventurer. All she needs is a chance to slip away from the palace so she can prove herself...
Queen Melody, mother to the princesses above, is a blend of her two daughters. Just as skilled with her wits as with an army, the Queen holds her realm together through shrewd political maneuvering and shows of force when necessary. While she is generally respected and loved by her people, there are plenty of scheming nobles and disgruntled peasants that see her as everything wrong with the land. Any sign of weakness from a queen is dangerous, and could be exploited by her enemies...
Now, who is the unlucky lady? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
