"They won't notice, if they don't see me," She whispered to herself.
Slowly she picked up her bag and waddled to the bushes. Her mother and sister were to busy picking fruit to notice. Just a few more steps and then she was safe behind some bushes.
She grabbed one fruit and bit in it. Juice was dripping from her chin. But it tasted so good.Fruit was after mammoth meat the best food in the world. Thanks to the fact her father and brother were good hunters and her mother and sister knew a lot about edible plants and roots, they mostly had enough food. They fed a lot of food to their thin and youngest girl. Well she surely wasn't thin anymore. She was very chubby. Some other kids weren't as lucky as she was to have enough food. Some of them were very thin. Some were so thin you could count their ribs.
"I guess I'm very lucky," Aya mumbled and bit in another piece of fruit.
Aya just hoped that there wouldn't be a cave bear near. A cave bear that wanted some food. She only saw cave bears from a very far distance or dead. If hunters found some. They seemed pretty scary to her, but she wasn't sure if she needed to be so scared for them. According to her father and other hunters cave bears were vegetarians. Even when they were about two times as tall as the grizzly who ate everything. But since they didn't ate meat they weren't pretty aggressive. As long if you stayed away from their cubs and didn't bothered them or attacked them they would probably leave you alone. Not that they weren't dangerous. They had a big mouth filled with huge teeth, razor sharp claws and big arms strong enough to break a human spin like a twig.
She grabbed more fruit and enjoyed every bite of it. She reached for another one but touched the bottom of the bag.
"What? Did I eat them all?" Aya asked.
She looked in the bag and saw it was empty. However their was a lot of juice around her mouth and stains of juice on her clothes and her belly seemed a bit bigger then normal.
"I just wanted to eat a few," She said. "Not all of them. Oh mommy and Annie are gonna be so angry."
She fast ran back to them and started picking fruit. But the bag of Annie and her mother were almost full by now.
"All right," Angelica said. "My bag is almost full so I think we can goooo... Aya. Your bag. it's almost empty. Weren't you busy picking fruit?"
"Haven't seen her busy," Annie said. "But she didn't had those stains on her dress this morning."
"Aya did you ate all the fruit you picked?"
"Well eh..." Aya started and knew there was no way out of this so she might as well tell the truth. "I guess I did. I was just very hungry."
"Fat, greedy pig." Her sister mumbled.
"Stay out of this!" Angelica shouted. "Aya that was very immature of you! We need that fruit for all of us! Not just you! It's not all about you! We all need to work for us part of the food!"
"I'm sorry mommy," Aya said. "I really am. But their still time. We're still here and theirs is still more fruit. If you and Annie help fill my bag we still have three full bags."
"Well... that's true. We will help you fill your bag. But we help! You also need to pick fruit by yourself. No more eating!"
Aya had no problem with that. After all that fruit she wasn't hungry anymore. Some time later her bag was full again. Each picked up a bag. It was pretty hard for Aya. She was still pretty young and didn't had that much muscle. But finally all three returned to the cave with three full bags.
