An almost creepy smile crossed Mark's face. He'd thought up a plan: use his new portal device on a video game, enter the world of the Super Mario games, and meet Princess Daisy, the ruler of Sarasaland, in person! An utterly flawless idea...
Well, at least that's what he believed.
The high-schooler turned on his Nintendo Wii U before checking that a Mario game disc was in the system. "Mario Party 10," he realized. "That'll have to do." Pointing his gadget at his TV, Mark pressed a button, and nearly instantaneously, a bright luminescence emerged from the TV, having effectively turned it into an interdimensional portal. In his shock and awe, Mark was abruptly and completely sucked into the screen-turned-portal, blacking out in no time flat.
After an uncertain amount of time, Mark slowly and groggily awoke in a grassy field. It didn't look at all like home, but this area still seemed...peaceful in a way. Not too many clouds floated in the sapphire sky, and a gentle breeze blew past a few trees that appeared to have...eyes?!
"Holy crap..." Mark marveled with a smile. "It actually worked! I'm somewhere in the Mario universe! But, I should probably head back home so I can run a few more tests..." He reached into his right pocket for his portal device...but it was empty. Reaching into his left pocket brought no luck either...and certainly no device. Understandably, Mark was starting to panic.
"Dang it...I lost the device! Now what do I do?!"
A feminine chuckle from behind him surprised Mark. Turning around, he noticed a brunette with a yellow-orange dress, a golden crown, and red pumps. Her blue eyes gave Mark a playful gaze, and her lips curled into a smile. The teen boy recognized this woman as Princess Daisy...but how the portal device wound up in her hands was a mystery.
Unfortunately, Mark had no time to ask what was going on -- Daisy pressed a scarlet button on the device, and a bright green beam hit the high-school genius, steadily shrinking him until he was no taller than her pinky toe!
"What in the hell...you shrunk me!!" Mark retorted as the Princess reached her gloved hands down to scoop him up, raising him to eye level.
"You bet I did!" Daisy giggled. "The thing is, I really could use a tiny little..."   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
