Lately, Marinette's life has gotten even more strenuous than usual. She's been easily winded just by her trips to and from school. By the time she does get to where she needs to go, the Chinese-French girl is normally found panting like a dog and sweating like a pig. Her cute ivory shirt even spawned smelly pit stains! Her twig arms felt as if they'd snap at any moment whenever the girl had to lug around mountains of schoolwork or tall orders for her family's business. Coupled with her naturally clumsy nature meant that this frequently led to dropping important assignments or baked goods and this in turn led to tripping and causing and even bigger mess. This physical ineptitude even affected her duties as Ladybug. At one point, she was capable of leaps, flips and jumps that would have quickly netted her world records and Olympic gold medals. Now, even with the additional power boost automatically granted to her when she transforms, she still lags far behind her catty partner, Chat Noir.
At the behest of her friends and family, Marinette had taken to a standard diet and exercise regimen to get back in shape. For once she regretted living a bakery, as it took an inhuman level of willpower to resist the heavenly aromas rising from her parents’ pastries. Her growling stomach soon became the loudest thing in the store, a testament to the great fasting that the benevolent girl was willingly subjecting herself to. Meals consisting of a banana in the morning, a small slab of meat with a protein shake for lunch, and a salad with a drop of dressing for dinner made up her daily food intake. Any pockets of flab that were stuck to her body melted off just from the lack of fat to consume. Her training was just as grueling, as she undertook any and every extracurricular that even remotely dealt with physical activity. Marinette ran 10-kilometer laps around the school, did push-ups even as her arms wobbled like jelly, and stretched to the point where she almost pulled her legs out of their sockets. Her new slew of responsibilities served to jumble up her ordinary schedule as a student, daughter, employee and super heroine. However, the teenager figured that if she were at peak bodily condition, then she’d be even stronger as Ladybug, so it as worth it to her. Whatever her rationale, Marinette would be hard-pressed to find a valid argument against the results after 6 months.
“Wow! My training’s really starting to pay off!”
The shy teen was analyzing her new frame in the mirror in her room. Originally, while her body was thin, it was also very lacking in noticeable muscles. Now, the combination of a low-calorie diet and hardened exercise had crafted it into a paragon of physical fitness. Her cardboard-flat stomach had developed rock-hard 6-pack abdominals. Marinette’s arms grew bulging veins and dominating biceps that threatened to cause tears in her clothing even when less contracted. Even her legs were well defined, having been rejuvenated by her constant running. All around Marinette thought that she had done some good work. She felt as though she could easily heave those worksheets and deliveries to where they’d need to go. And as LB, she could take down whatever supervillain crossed her path. This gave her an idea…   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
