The stallion looked you over, a smile spreading across his muzzle. "Me?" the stallion asked, lifting his hoof off your shoulder to press into his chest. "You know who you're talking to, squirt?" The stallion shook his head with a chuckle. "I'm Corporal Bulldozer. Second only to Accipiter here. I don't do patrols, not any more."
Lance frowned a little, but honestly found it a little relieving. He probably wouldn't have felt that safe with this sizeable stallion anyway. "Oh, sorry, I didn't realise," he said politely.
The stallion snorted another laugh at Lance's response. "Some of the guardsponies in the other unit through here might be looking for a tagalong. They're just through that door," he said, nodding his head in the direction of the door Lance had been aiming for anyway.
Another nervous swallow at the wrong time delayed Lance's reply, leaving a short period of silence before a "Thanks..." Lance turned back to the door and started to trot when he felt that hoof land on his shoulder immediately.
"Than again you don't have to go out on patrol. Want to assist me, kid? I'll tell Accipiter you were helping me," the stallion declared. Lance hesitated. It was a tempting offer for sure if it'd get him off patrol... though did he trust this guy?
