They had always called you their Little man, a name that you hated and detested when growing up. Fortunately for yourself however you have grown quite a bit from those days and you and most of your siblings are all adults now. Except for your little sister who had just turned fourteen. You didn't know much about the other family other than that, the five seem to be the complete opposite of your family. As they did have their mother and father, two sisters and a brother.
You decided to go and introduce yourself to the other family. " Hello, guess we will be working together to survive on this planet, Right?" You asked.
The father of the other family however scoffed at the notion of your suggestion. " Working Together? With them? Ha! I'd rather be eaten then work with your family!" The Other families father replied. It wasn't long before your mother heard his response that she went and came over to you and him.
" You don't have the right to talk to my son that way! All he suggested is that we work together. I don't see that being so hard Thomas." Your mother said. It was at this point you realized that your mother had knew the father of the other family. This peaked your curiosity as you often wondered why your family and his didn't get along.
" Mom, How do you two know each other?" You asked.
" Of Course we do, Back on Earth we used to work together, but our views our rather different." You mom said.
" Different is one way of putting it. It is apparently obvious though that you have told your son the whole story though. He doesn't even know your secret let alone mine." Thomas said as he went off and walked away from you and your mom.
" What is this secret he's talking about mom?" You asked your mother.
" It's because I believe in Magic, Well that is part of it. Thomas however believes deeply in Science so much so that occasionally he can be blinded by his ambition. I never told you about it because there was never a need for it." Your mother explained. Although you were satisfied with the response you couldn't help but think that there was more to it than she told. After all to you it seemed kind of silly that the only thing causing the father of the other family disliking you was because of your mother's belief in magic. You gave it some thought and eventually decided too...
