Chapter #5Ms. Mercury by: Unknown Kris was surprised to see Ms. Mercury in a car stopping next to her. Kris knew the teacher barely. She recognized her from coaching the women's volleyball team at school and the few times she had to fill in when her own gym teacher called in sick. Obviously they had to try out volleyball those times. Kris remembered the shouting and excitement coming from her. She was competitive and that was probably what the volleyball team needed.
"Oh hi Ms. Mercury." Kris said to her as the former pulled down her window.
"Hi Kris, I noticed you are worn out." Wow, she even remembers my name. Kris was surprised to notice that.
"Yeah, well I don't exercise that much. So.." Kris shrugged her shoulder.
Ms. Mercury nodded warmly. "I understand you need to build up." Ms. Mercury then looked around herself. "Say, why don't I give you a lift to school?"
"Really? You would do that?" Kris asked to be sure.
"Sure, step inside." Ms. Mercury told her opening the passenger door. Kris was always told never to go with strangers, but Ms. Mercury was someone familiar, so she didn't see a reason not to go. Besides she could use the break.
"Okay." Kris pulled up her backpack and stepped inside the car. They then made off for school.
Inside the car the radio was playing loud a cheerful pop song, next to her Kris saw wrappers of chewing gum, chips and more junk food lying around.
"Yeah, I haven't cleaned the car in a long time." Ms. Mercury told Kris. Kris noticed that Ms. Mercury was dressed as usual. A thin sports bra covering her breast, showing off her nipples and shorts showing off her worked out legs. Ms. Mercury really had a great body.
"So, Kris, have you decided to do it?" Ms. Mercury asked.
"What do you mean?" Kris couldn't remember what she was talking about.
"The volleyball team silly, I told you the last time I filled in for your gym teacher." Ms. Mercury explained.
"I-uhh, I thought you were telling everyone, not just me." Kris explained. She wished she hadn't gone with Ms. Mercury. It did seem too good to be true.
"Sure, but I remember looking at you as well when I told you the volleyball team needs you." Ms. Mercury pointed out just barely avoiding a trash can.
"Yeah, but I'm not sure I'm really good at it." Kris told her. "I mean I'm way too little to make it onto the team." Ms. Mercury shook her head, her hair like a blaze of fire.
"Those are just lame excuses, Kris. If you really want to do it, you can. You just need to believe in yourself...and train of course with the best coach there is."
Kris and Ms. Mercury arrived at school. Kris couldn't remember being more happy about it than now.
"I'll have to think about it." Kris said opening the door handle. Before she could leave though, Kris felt Ms. Mercury grabbing hold of her arm. Kris looked back at her. "I mean it, if you want to make a change you have to make it now." Ms. Mercury then let go of Kris as the latter moved quickly inside the school. She wasn't sure what that last was but she couldn't remember being more happy about it. Kris quickly went to the bathroom as she looked at herself in the mirror. Would she really fit in the volleyball team? Kris remembered from that day Ms. Mercury announced it, new applicants would be formed into a separate team. It did give a new opportunity to find someone to use the spell with. But was it worth the effort?
Kris thought about it and decided to... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
