"Okay." Courtney replied back to him. "How about we swap something else and you can prove it to me." She crossed her arms across her chest in a defiant manner and tried to look intimidating. "Well?"
Josh stood there for a moment trying to think about his options. He could just say no and live with having Courtney's friends for a couple days and as soon as she went through a full day of classes without anybody to really talk to, she would come crawling back to him. "I'm thinking." Josh announced as he continued with his thoughts. 'But knowing Courtney, she might find newer friends and forget the ones that she had before hand.' He sighed as he looked over at his sister. "Since you're holding my friends hostage for the time being, I think I have no choice but to do another swap with you." Courtney started to squeal with delight at hearing this, but stopped when she saw her brother holding up a finger telling her to hold on a minute. "But if I do his, then I want to have my friends back. Deal?" He held out his hand to seal the deal with his sister.
"And I get to pick what I want to swap with you?" She wondered as she hesitantly waited to seal the deal with her brother.
"Within reason." Josh agreed as he looked down at his hand to help move the negotiation along.
"Okay." She eagerly shook his hand. "I want to swap our sport skills."
"Wait, what?" Josh sputtered as he nearly choked on the bottle of water that he was drinking. He wasn't really a jock or anything, but he could certainly hold his own at most sports and enjoyed watching them every once in a while. While he watched the games, he would get learn the rules and found them to be more enjoying as he learned more about them.
"Well, next week we're having our Sporty week at school." Courtney started to explain, but Josh didn't really need to hear it because he remembered it well. During Sporty Week, all the classes were able to do a sport of their choosing for an hour or two so that the students could try out new things.
"But that's all week." Josh complained as he fell back on his bed. "I guess I can do that, but in order to do it, I think you'll need my sport knowledge too." Thinking mostly out loud to himself.
Eagerly and impatiently, Courtney replied. "I Agree." The blinding light once again enveloped the room and nearly blinded them both.
"Courtney!" Josh complained as he rubbed his eyes trying to get them readjusted back to the normal light after the bright, white light dissipated. "I was thinking out loud, not making a deal."
"Well, it's too late now." Courtney suggested as she got up from her brother's bed. "And besides, you got your friends back."
'But at what cost.' Josh thought to himself. "Just leave me alone." He pointed to the door. Shrugging her shoulders, Courtney left her brother's room, excited to try out her new sport skills and knowledge. As the door closed, Josh just lay on his bed trying to figure out the damage that was done by his sister's eager attitude. He thought back at baseball and all that he knew were the basics. The play threw that ball and the other team had to hit the ball with a stick. That's all he knew. 'Did the games have a time limit or was there another way for them to keep track of the time.' Josh just shook his head trying to think of how the game went.
