Suddenly, as you pass through another dense part of the forest, you suddenly notice a monster boy in front of you! Luckily for you, it doesn't seem like he spotted you yet... he is smaller than you, and doesn't seem too dangerous, but you know better than to underestimate the monsters. From the dog-like ears on his shoulder-length white colored hair, and a little tail, you guess that he must be some specie of a dog boy. He is probably a bit young, considering his size and effemiate physique.
As you are standing there and looking towards him, the monster boy finally turns in your direction! But just as you start preparing your staff for unavoidable combat... he actually jumps to the side and hides behind a nearby tree.
"D-don't hurt me!" You can hear him saying from behind the tree
That surely wasn't what you expected... but you still don't fully trust him, so without a word you approach the tree, the young monster boy quickly falls back to the forest ground, seeming scared of you being so close. Of course it might all be just a ploy to make you let your guard down.
"P-please don't hurt me human! I-I just got lost here..." He says, tears seemingly forming in his eyes, as he sits on the ground, backing away from you slowly
"That's new... a monster boy who doesn't attack a human on sight." You say, still not lowering your staff
"I-I'm not like this... H-humans are scary, s-so I just was surviving out there on my own... b-but I got lost when looking for food..."The monster boy claims, as he covers in fear of you on the ground
"As if! All monster boys want is to dominate humans and make them addicted to their feet!" You say in accusatory tone
"N-no, I-I don't want to... do this.... I-I don't even think my feet are cute enough... t-to addict a human..." The scared dog boy said, if this was all an act, he certainly was good at it
Either way, it wouldn't feel right for you to strike down an opponent who is helplessly covering in fear like that, so you finally decided to lower your staff.
You can see the dog boy let out a relieved sigh as you did so.
"T-thank you..." He said, but still didn't get up from the ground, seemingly still scared of you
"Whatever, I will not strike a helpless opponent, but you better not try to ambush me, or I won't be so merciful next time." You say in a threatening way
"A-actually... I-I was hoping..." The monster boy starts, but does so slowly, seemingly still too shy or terrified of you
"C-could you... help me... g-get out of this forest? I-I will do anything! F-follow you, c-carry your inventory, or h-help you find food..." The shy dog boy finally finished
He seemed pretty honest... but you can't know for sure, could he really be trusted? A companion on your journey could definitely be useful, but was it really safe to have a monster boy as a companion?
