They decide to make the Giantess their leader

They decide that the Giantess is too powerful to fight, and the countryside is too rugged to flee through. Their only choice; submission!

If they can convince the Giantess to become their patron they would never need fear such an attack ever again! She could protect and shelter them, she could perhaps even help them to conquer other tribes

Their best surviving hunter, Dar, leads forth the men of the village, those who remain alive that is. The Giantess' trail is easy to follow; trees snapped like twigs, footprints the size of an ox, giant boulders carelessly kicked aside...

Soon they come to her cave, a massive yawning fissure of blackness wrent in the side of the mountain. A glimmer of firelight spills out from it's depths

Dar decides to go in alone, so as not to startle the powerful goddess

He finds her sitting on a pallet of mammoth skins beside a roaring bonfire. In the corner of the cave is a wicker cage holding human captives. She is gnawing upon the roasted corpse of a man and a slave rubs her massive, dirty feet with oil, cleaning and massaging her soles with all the power of his muscular frame...
