Ok, so the others haven't quite tickled your fancy, or have just hit a dead end, well how about these options for who the giantess is:

1. An Angel: She's an angel. she came down from "The heavens," or was thrown out, or whatever you peaks your fancy.
2. A demon: She's a gentle demon. She has been summoned to our world, or was cast out for not hating humans, or some other reason.
3. A goddess: Welp, she's a gentle goddess. She has a love for humanity, or maybe you, or maybe both, or just feels kind for other reasons.
4. Other: if any of the others don't work for you, you think of something that does work!

You have the following choices:
