Wind was blowing and the sun was high in the sky. There wasn't a cloud in the sky above Port Charcarias as ships wove in and out of her docks. Port Charcarias was a small city among many in Roiling Bay, but was the one that pirates frequented the most.
That day, some fishermen already noticed a pirate ship, with a golden whale as figurehead, and a flag with an easily recognizable Jolly Roger: a skull with two eels popping out of the sockets and twisting their bodies. That was Elizabeth Robin’s; known as "Sea legs", ship.
She was pretty famous among the pirates for being one of the very few female captains, and one of the youngest, and also because her crew was the only one where all the members were female.
If for a pirate a woman on board brought bad luck, one could only imagine what would happen when all the crewmembers were women.
However, Elizabeth was also known for her skills, as rumors said that her ship, the "Sunny whale", originally belonged to another pirate, until the day she stole the ship from under him; and many people were as much afraid of stumbling across the sunny whale as much as meeting a Kraken.
Elizabeth was on the top deck, where the wind was blowing her golden braids, while the sunlight reflected off her tanned skin. She was wearing a captain’s hat and a large pirate jacket, left open while the other clothes, a short white blouse and a pair of extremely short shorts with a large belt, revealed her hourglass figure.
Once the ship stopped moving Elizabeth went towards the ramp, and called her second in command. "Katy!" The captain bellowed across the deck.
Answering was a woman of roughly the same age but taller, with reddish-brown hair kept in a pony-tail that almost touched the ground. She was wearing a pair of long trousers, a corset and a shirt that left her large cleavage exposed and a pair of long gloves.
"What do ya’ need captain?" said Katy.
"I'm going to Scylla's, I should return to the ship in an hour at most. In the meantime, you give the orders, and make sure we are ready to set sail once I'm back."
"Yes captain but, shouldn’t we get more stocks? Arlene said the depot is almost empty. And we need to sell the jewels we stole to those old nobles" replied Katy before taking a sip from her rum-flask.
Elizabeth shook her shoulders, "Fine, send someone to buy enough stock for a week or two, but do it quickly, we set sail when I return and not a moment later. As for the jewels, we'll sell them at the Rock-fang"
"Aye aye captain" replied Katy taking another sip of rum, but noticed with displeasure that it was empty.
"Hey! One of you sea-whores bring me another flask!" That was the last Elizabeth heard before setting foot into port.

Scylla's was a notorious tavern for those who habitually visited Port Charcarias. It was cheap (but very few dared risking their life and ordering something to drink) and it was the perfect place if you wanted information about undiscovered treasures, mysterious outlaws or simple gossips. Though getting that information wasn't as easy as it seemed, and was definitely not cheap.
The owner, Norm, was your average tavern owner: short, chubby, a big nose with a riotous moustache and a head so bald it looked like he had covered it in boot polish. But no-one dared to tangle with Norm, even when he tried to kick patrons out, thanks to his assistant, Wilda, a minotaur that was as tall as she was large, who made sure no-one laid a finger on her boss.
At that moment, Elizabeth was playing "du-do", a game with dice where you can make a bet on the others results. Elizabeth loved that game, and she was winning as usual. She had already won a hundred gold coins, a pair of golden necklaces and a wooden leg (it was just a random wooden leg, but she wanted to win it out of spite for the now one-legged pirate sitting to her left), and now was about to win something she was really really interested in, and the main reason she went to the bar in the first place.
The woman and the man in front of her had their iron glasses down, with the die inside.
The two stared into each other's eyes, in the hope to find the sign of a bluff.
Then Elizabeth shouted "I say three fives."
The man brushed his long beard and replied "Fourrrrr sixes."
"Seven Fives" replied the tanned blonde.
The other pirates at the table gasped. That was a large bet considering there were only ten die in total.
"It seems you really want to lose that "scale of the sea"…" the brutish pirate commented, pointing at the gem in Elisabeth's earring. It was a light-blue gem that shined on its own. "Eight sixes" replied the man with a grin.
Elizabeth kept her cool, and gave a quick look under her glass, then she said: "Four jollys"
A big smile, lacking a pair of teeth, appeared on the big brute's face. "Ah-ha! I doubt it!" And revealed the five die under his glass. Not one of them had a "one", the equivalent of the jolly, face.
"Give me that!" Said the brute anxious to get his reward as he leaned over the table..
Elizabeth put a finger to his forehead, "uh-uh-uh; do you think I don't have four jollys under my glass? I have five die…"
A drop of sweat poured dripped from the Brute's face... and Elizabeth revealed her die. There were four "one" faces.
"You can't mess with "sea legs" so easily" said Elizabeth putting a hand on her lips and blowing a kiss while crossing her legs.
"And your nickname is well earned" commented eagerly a man next to her, gazing at her long tanned legs, before the blonde imprinted her boot on his face with a sift twirl.
"It's impossible! you cheated!" The opposing pirate protested furiously, slamming his hand on the table and preparing himself to punch Elizabeth, if not for the woman’s quicker reflexes as she drew the flintlock pistol from her belt, and pointed it directly towards his face.
Elizabeth noticed the minotaur raising her head with a frown on her face.
"Don't worry Wilda, I will be finished with my transaction immediately." Then turned her head toward the bearded man.
"I'm sorry Rob the Repulsive. But you lost" said the woman stretching her hand "Now give me it."
The man grunted and handed her...
