This choice: Beverly, the Blacksmith Giant • Go Back...Chapter #6Beverly, the Blacksmith Giant by: Keroro04 Not many people made their homes in the Lava Reaches, but time and time again people manage to find a way. Dealing with the heat was probably the easiest part as people could just switch to light clothing, but the hard problems were the creatures of the night: demons and succubi.
But as was stated, people find a way…
“Ahhhh… this is the life…”
Beverly was perhaps one of the more capable people to have lived in the Reaches, having lived there since she was 5 thanks to being rescued by some dwarves when her home tribe was destroyed in a eruption. Since then she had been living by the forge, doing what she could to help others by providing weaponry to them.
Though another reason for this capability was perhaps the fact that she was an incredibly strong Giant. Standing at 25 feet tall, she had been taught to be careful around the forge due to being as tall as 5 humans and as strong as a thousand of them. After all, she was strong even for a giant, with a muscular body from lifting literal tons of iron ore and carrying it around all day.
What did she do with that iron ore though? She used it to craft holy weapons of course! Demons were a dime a dozen in the Lava Reaches, but there was a simple solution to dealing with them. All that was needed was for someone to throw in some holy water or silver into a weapon’s construction, and that weapon would become a holy bane for any monster!
Because of this, these sorts of weapons were in very high demand, and she was living well off the feasts they provided in exchange for her continued service. Currently, she was stuffing herself full of handfuls of roast pork, feeling her stout belly fill up with each gulp.
“So… do you like the feast, Ms. Beverly?”
Feeling a tug on her suspenders, Beverly looked down and saw the portly chef that had made this roast for her. She was a portly woman with tanned skin and short red hair, reminding her of her own crimson locks. She didn’t have any muscle though, which was a bit of a letdown.
Still though, she cooked a incredible feast, and in exchange she had to show off some incredible work. Giving one big pat to her rotund gut, Beverly got up from her chair and gave a big thumbs up.
“Of course it was great, you know pork’s my favorite! Now let’s see… your village needed some brand new holy swords to replace the last demonic incursion? Was that correct?”
“Indeed!” The little chef said, looking up at the giant’s lumbering body in awe. “We need 20 swords in all, since the Queen in Red destroyed an entire platoon with a deadly fireball and melted them!”
“Ah, the Queen in Red… now that’s a monster no mere mortal can mess with…”
In the Lava Reaches, there were few demons which could stand up to holy weapons, but one glaring exception to that was the Queen in Red. Exceptionally strong even for demon standards, the succubi managed to do something that nobody else could: break a holy sword with her bare hands.
On top of that she had a mastery of conjugation, so she was a threat on both a physical and magical level. Entire villages lived in fear of them, and entire cities worshipped her like a Queen.
Beverly wasn’t afraid of this however, as she took a step to the forge. “Well, in that case, 20 holy swords coming up!”
Grabbing a huge chunk of silver ore from the ground, Beverly whistled out as a few smaller Lava Dwarves came out to help. While she worked the bigger magma pump above, they helped shape the weapons down below, since she’d have a hard time trying to make human-sized stuff otherwise.
With that she continually swapped between pumping in molten iron with a giant-sized tube, and banging it down with her own personal forge hammer, to let it mix with the silver ore and reach the dwarves down below. From there, they forged each sword one by one, until all twenty blades were ready to be presented.
Once cooked enough, Beverly picked up one of them with two fingers, before passing it on to the chef. In her hands though, it merely was the size of a toothpick to her. “So, how’s it feel?”
“It’s… it’s incredible!” The chef said, swinging the sword around and feeling that even she could wield it with ease. “It’s so light… but I can feel it has so much power within it! The village guard will be so pleased!”
“Glad to hear!” Falling down to the floor, Beverly smiled as she rested on her belly, looking down to the chef. “Perhaps next time you need some weapons and armor, we can eat together? Yknow, to discuss events happening all over the Reaches and all that…”
“Oh, of course, it would be an honor, Ms. Beverly! Perhaps you can even come to our village once in a while? They’d be happy to see you!”
“I’ll think about it. I certainly would love to come and visit after all, but I do got a forge to watch over.”
“That’s okay, but when you do get a chance, please let us know! We’ll have a big welcoming feast ready for you and everything!”
Watching the little chef call for her companions to cart away the holy weapons with her, Beverly turned over to look at the starry night sky, happy that another customer was satisfied. Not only was she helping protect people, but she was even getting fed for it, meaning she didn’t even have to worry about hunting!
Of course, all that lying around and devouring meals on end had impacted her figure, but the way she saw it, her bergoning belly and rotund behind were more something to be proud of. Long as her belly was stuffed or her ass still had some jiggle, she knew she was going in the right direction.
Eventually though, the giant began to doze off, and as she dreamed, she had one thought in her mind:
“What to eat tomorrow?” indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
