This choice: Kawakami's smothering and overprotective. • Go Back... Kawakami looked back and forth between Akira and the attic around them, her eyes full of concern. She seemed to be debating a decision in her mind.
"Um... Kawakami-sensei?" Akira asked cautiously. "What's up?"
"I've decided you can't stay here, Akira-kun," Kawakami announced. "Even if I clean this place twice a week, this attic is filthy."
"It's an attic," Akira replied blandly, unsure why Kawakami was only concerned about this now. "That's never been an issue for me before."
"You weren't tiny enough to be carried away by rats before!" Kawakami countered. The mere thought seemed to spook her, and she brought Akira close to her. This had the unintended effect of giving Akira a very generous view of her cleavage, accentuated as always by her skimpy maid outfit.
"I...I've literally never seen a rat in here!" Akira exclaimed, fighting to look up at his teacher's face. Why was she acting this way? "I mean, Morgana's not exactly a mouse hunter or anything, but I think his mere presence scares them off. It's probably part of why Sojiro lets me keep him around."
"Oh, God, I forgot you have a cat!" Kawakami exclaimed. "That's even worse! There's no way I'm leaving you here now!"
"Morgana's not going to eat me, Kawakami-sensei," Akira groaned.
"Akira-kun," Kawakami said in a patronizing tone. "Cats are predators by nature. You may love Morgana very much, but if he sees you this small, he won't think you're his owner. He'll think you're food."
Akira bit back his reply. While he'd love to explain that Morgana was not a house cat but an intelligent denizen of the Metaverse that taught him the finer points of breaking and entering (and who would find this whole conversation either offensive or hilarious), that would raise a whole bunch of questions from Kawakami that he didn't want to answer.
"Okay, fine," Akira conceded. "So if I can't stay here, where am I staying?"
"With me!" Kawakami answered immediately, smiling. "Don't worry, I'll take great care of you... master," she added with a wink.
Kawakami had never given Akira reason to distrust her before. In fact, in the time that they'd gotten to know each other Akira had come to see her not just as a teacher he had a deal with to occasionally slack off in class, but as an actual friend of sorts. But still, the fact that she came to this conclusion so quickly, and seemed so eager, set off some alarm bells in his mind.
"You don't have to put yourself out, Kawakami-sensei," Akira insisted. "You can take me to Sojiro. He and his daughter can look after me until I grow back."
"Uh-huh. And how do I explain why I was in your room?" Kawakami countered, eyebrow raised. "At night? In a maid outfit?"
"Er..."
"There's no way that conversation ends without me getting fired, and you getting sent to jail for violating probation!" Kawakami insisted, actually clutching Akira to her bosom now as she got wrapped up in her paranoia. "I'm not letting that happen to you, Akira-kun. No Sojiro-san!"
"Honestly, at this point, he'd probably just laugh," Akira said, somewhat muffled by his face being pressed into Kawakami's breast. Did she even realize she was doing that? "He's warmed up to me enough that I trust him. And his daughter would..." Akira trailed off, imagining Futaba's reaction to him having his teacher clean his room in a sexy maid outfit. "You know what? You're right. Sojiro's a bad idea. Let's just go to your place."
"Good! Glad that's settled," Kawakami said with a smile, as she held Akira out in her hand to look at him again. "I'm your teacher, and it's my responsibility to make sure you're safe. I wouldn't have taken no for an answer. Now..." She tapped the finger on her other hand to her chin in thought. "How to carry you?"
Based on the past few minutes, Akira could tell where this was heading, and while Kawakami was not an unattractive woman, her being his teacher and the bizarrely motherly way she was acting made the whole prospect deeply uncomfortable for him. "Kawakami-sensei, your uniform has pockets."
"No good," Kawakami replied immediately. "I need to be able to hear you if there's something wrong."
"Your ear, then," Akira suggested.
"You could fall out!" Kawakami exclaimed, the image of her tiny student falling from her ear and landing on the hard ground obviously horrifying to her. "It needs to be close enough for me to hear, but secure... I've got it!"
"Oh lord..." Akira muttered as Kawakami's hand brought him directly to her cleavage...
...only to go past it and deposit Akira between her neck and the ribbon she kept tied around it, the other hand pulling on the ribbon to gently tighten it.
"Is that too tight, Akira?" Kawakami asked, her voice vibrating behind Akira as his back was practically against her vocal cords. "It needs to be secure so you don't fall, but if it's cutting off circulation you have to tell me."
"No..." Akira said. "No, I'm good."
"Great!" Kawakami said. "Well, let's head on out, then. I'll make sure you're safe, Akira-kun."
As she left, she muttered under her breath, forgetting Akira could easily hear every word she said.
"I can't lose another one..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
