Yu stepped through the door to the Velvet Room and found himself with an unfamiliar sight. The room was completely empty.
Most of the times he had visited beforehand, the grinning visage of Igor, the disinterested look in Marie's eyes, and the subtle alluring expression on Margaret's face had been here to greet him. While Marie would wander from time to time, he hadn't seen it devoid of any of its residents until today.
Yu frowned. He had hoped to fuse some Personas today, but it looked like that wasn't in the cards for now. The teenager was about to turn and leave when his keen eyes spotted the row of liquor lining the side of the existential limousine.
There was no alcohol in the Dojima household (or if there was, his uncle had been very good at keeping it out of sight) and while Yu wasn't normally one to indulge in such things, he had just scored the highest marks in the class on the latest exam. Surely, that was reason enough for a little celebration...?
Yu tentatively picked up the first bottle his mind instinctively called out for. It was unlabelled, but one sniff after its uncorking told him that it was what he was looking for (and it had a slight hint of cherry, too.) The teenager hesitated as he held the bottle near his lips, intent on having at least one or two sips before Igor came back.

It took just one sip for Yu to immediately fall unconscious.

Yu awoke slowly, groggy and unbalanced. At first, he was worried that he had suffered a hangover - something he had never experienced firsthand in his young life yet - but as his senses cleared, the truth became much more apparent and much more frightening.
The ceiling to the Velvet Room looked like it was the sky.
Sure enough, as Yu pulled himself to his feet, he saw the familiar surroundings of the limousine now stretched out before him at an enormous scale. The bottle he had taste tested to such startling effect was not far away from him, now the size of a truck.
That's what I get for trying to be bold...
No matter how much courage Yu might have gained from his sneaky sip, all of that courage disappeared as he heard the echoes of heavy footsteps from the glowing entrance and exit of the Velvet Room. Someone was returning, and they would be completely unaware of the shrunken boy at their feet...
