You could only watch as you were moved into the cat lady’s house. Despite all your banging and screaming the cat lady did not respond to your frantic behavior. The movement of the much larger cat lady walking shook the jar a bit, knocking you three around against the sides of the jar and even against each other. The inside of the feline’s house seemed very inviting and well furnished. You’d probably feel more comforted if you were your normal size. You saw she was headed to the kitchen and moved you up towards her set of cabinets. To the side of them there were some shelves with houseplants and food condiments on them, although the food condiments seemed cat themed, reading titles like ‘Odor De Fish’ and ‘Catnip Perfection’.
After placing the jar on the shelf the cat nodded to you, “Now, you stay and wait for bad omen to wear off.” The cat turned around and started to walk off, then you had a plan.
You bang against the side of the jar, yelling out, “Wait! Miss! If the curse wears off and we grow big again won’t we break the glass all around us? That could hurt us really bad.”
The cat seemed to have heard you and turned around, walking back up to the jar with an understanding expression, “I suppose you have good point little one. We don’t want to cause little ones any harm.”
You wanted to scoff at her for that. She’s already caused plenty harm by shrinking you. You smile up at her, “So, will you let us out?”
The black cat nodded with her own smile, “Of course.” She screwed the lid of the jar off and tilted your glass prison once again. You three were sent stumbling out onto her leathery paw. You shuddered in fear, looking at the paw beneath you that easily held you, Maria and Kevin. You felt truly miniscule.
You peered up at the cat lady’s grinning face, “Thank you miss. Now can you make us big again?”
The cat raised a furry brow and grinned, chuckling a bit, “Big? Make YOU big? Oh, no, no, no young one. I can only give bad omen. No good omen. That’s for the bear lady two doors down. We can only wait until bad shrink omen wears off.”
You were a bit annoyed by this answer and in equal measure terrified. Mentally exhausted from your whole ordeal you blurted out, “Well then how long will it take then?”
The cat lady’s glowing, feline eyes widened as she chuckled nervously and scratched her ear, “Well, um… hmm. Could be a few minutes… or a few weeks. I’m not sure.”
Kevin complained, “B-but we have school in the morning.”
Maria groaned, “I think we have bigger things to worry about right now than school, Kevin.”
You were about to complain before she wagged a disapproving claw at you, “No, no. No more questions. I must find new place to keep you until you grow back. Hmmm, where to put little ones?” Then the cat’s eyes widened as she snapped her fingers, with a grin she answered, “I know perfect place.”
