A new friend to face destiny with

You saw the sign said “live food for consumption or live bait”. You shuddered when you realized you were going to end up in some non-human’s stomach. You didn’t know what was worse, being bait or being a treat for a pet. After a moment of thinking, you suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned around to see a tiny woman behind you.

“Hey, are you afraid too?” She asked. The woman looked to be a bit older than you, and a little taller. She had long brown hair, blue eyes, and was pretty skinny. As you nodded, she wrapped her arms around you. “My name is Elizabeth. I had worked at a Library, until I was suddenly grabbed. I didn’t have a family before, so I won’t be missed. What about you?”

“My name is Ken, and I had just gotten off of school. I did have a family, but they won’t miss me.” You said. The woman gave you a hug and smiled.

“I know we can’t escape being eaten, but let’s try to stick together. It’ll be better than to experience your fate alone.” You nodded and held her hand. Suddenly, your prison started to move again. The whole place started to shake, making you fall onto your new friend. You opened your eyes to see that you were in a clear jar on a shelf.

“Honey, it won’t be long now.” Elizabeth said. “It looks like we ended up in…
