The small glimmer of hope in her eyes dies out immediately and she seems suddenly more sunken.

You do feel bad. She's clearly disheartened at finding out yet another pony was turning her down, but it couldn't come as much of a surprise when the job involved such... sensitive matters.
"This should cover your journey home. Sorry for wasting your time. If you ever happen to reconsider, please send me a scroll." She offers you a smile, though you can tell it's very forced.
The princess wordlessly shows you down to the front entrance.
"There's a stallion with a cart just on the edge of town - past the town hall. He'll take you home."
And with that, you see Twilight's sunken face disappear behind the castle doors.
The weather seems to correspond with your situation as you walk across town; the blue sky has suddenly become a collage of grey clouds, and a light rain begins to patter on the ground around you.
Just as Twilight said, there's a stallion resting against a wagon, peering up cautiously at the sky, shielding his face from the incoming wind.
As you approach, he looks down to you.
"Where do you wanna go, pal? Rates are on the side of the wagon here."
You take a look. Weirdly, you feel as if you'd rather be any place but home right now. You realize that you only have enough bits for one journey, and even then the locations much farther afield are way out of your price range anyway.
"Well?" He presses, and you examine the list again, picking out three options you can afford.
