You were a bear named Roy.
You woke up and it was your fifth birthday, but you were still in diapers.
The reason why was because talking bears waited until later to potty-train their kids and it was tradition to start on their fifth birthday. The logic behind it was that they'd be more mature and learn faster.
"Wakey-wakey, Roy, happy birthday!" said your mom and dad, walking into the house, wearing party hats.
You got dressed and put a party hat on too.
Then, you went downstairs and they said, "Your friends will be here in a while, but now you can open this present from us!".
It was a potty. "What is it?" you asked.
"It's a potty," said your dad, "It's for you to use instead of a diaper."
