She began to finally stir. After nearly a millennia of slumber, the Fairy Queen, Titania, turned in her hiding place. Over the past few minutes, she heard quite the commotion coming from the outside world and didn't really understand what was going on. Looking around her little hovel, Titania tried to find her handmaidens. "Deirda? Quinta?" Her lovely voice called out to the empty room. She stretched her small, lithe body and heard an odd noise coming from the outside. "What in the many realms is going on?" She asked to nobody in particular and brought her feminine hands up to her ears to help protect her from the loud noise.
"Keep backing it up." A disembodied male voice called out with an odd accent that she had never heard before. Being of the Fairy Realm, Titania was well acquainted with all languages and accents from around the world. "There you go, Daniel. Perfect spot." A loud sound soon followed and caused Titania to jump. "Let's go back inside so that Emma doesn't freak out too much, hmm?" The male voice asked and chuckled.
"What was that?" Titania asked herself, as she took a defensive posture. "If Oberon was here he would take care of everything" After taking a moment to steady herself, the Fairy Queen gestured her hand and opened the knothole and gave her a view of the outside world. With the sudden burst of light, Titania had to shield her eyes from the bright onslaught that came through the new opening. After her eyes were able to readjust to the light, she was shocked to see the changed world that she once called home. The once beautiful glade, full of flora and fauna, now rows of odd looking buildings. Gone were the towering trees and the settlements of fairies that she and her husband, Oberon, strove to protect.
Titania fell to her knees and sobbed silently at the loss of her handmaidens, husband, and her loving subjects. The thought of those lost over the years caused great rage to build up within her and raised her clenched fists in anger. "Are you coming?" One of the male voices called out. Titania looked over to the voice and noticed a guy with short brown hair.
"The Humans." Titania growled with vile intent. "They have desecrated these lands with their filth and have to be taught a lesson." She stretched her wings and noticed that they were still as silken and beautiful that they've been when she fell asleep almost a millennia ago. "I wonder if I will run into Puck while I'm out teaching the Humans a lesson." She giggled to herself, as she took a step from her home and started to flutter close to the male humans, both of whom were about to go inside the odd building.
