The lion had to stop and sit down on the first bench that he saw when he got to the park. Stabbing pains pierced Evan's stomach as it ached and groaned while struggling to digest his oversized meal. He hadn't made it that far into the park itself; his apartment building could still be seen in the distance. Placing a paw on his swollen and distended belly that was pressing tight against his shirt, Evan took a few slow, deep breathe to alleviate the pain.
After a short break, the lion felt ready to continue. He then heard an unusual noise of in the distance. It sounded both rhythmic and distraught, and it was coming closer. Moments later, Evan recognized the noise as heavy panting. And when he saw the fur slowly jogging around the bend of the park's concrete path, the lion understood why.
The cheetah huffed and puffed as his flabby belly bounced up and down. Each heavy step sent shockwaves through the fur's immense and soft body. The grey sweatshirt and sweatpants he wore clung to his obese frame, the former of which was starting to rise up, exposing distorted black and orange spots of the cheetah's fur. His stride was quite small as his blubbery thighs fought to pass by one another. Loud swishing sounds made it evident how tight his legs were rubbing against each other.
The cheetah didn't notice Evan watch as he jogged along the path at a snail's pace. Sweat poured down the cheetah's plump cheeks and rolled down his chins. He didn't acknowledge Evan as he slowly jogged by the lion who was now mesmerised by this spectcle. The cheetah seemed focused on his mission. Evan saw the big cat's big backside after he waddled by, the sweatpants straining to contain the masses of cellulite. A long orange and black spotted tail hung lazily over the cheetahs ballooned up butt.
The cheetah was nearly out of sight when Evan saw him suddenly tumble to the ground with a loud "OH SHI-". The lion got up and quickly walked over to the big cat trying not to jostle around his stomach too much. Lying on the ground clutching his ankle, the cheetah moaned in pain. The left leg of his sweatpants had spit open due to the fall and the cat's pillowy thigh swelled up out of it. The area was particularly dark and not lit very well due to the many tall and shady trees nearby. Evan surmised that the cheetah had tripped over one of the several roots that had started to overtake the path.
"Hey, man! Are you okay?" Evan asked.
The cheetah once again groaned in pain. "No, my ankle is killing me!" He rubbed a meaty paw along the joint as best as he could. The cat's colossal belly made reaching it a bit difficult.
"Did you break your ankle?"
"Maybe? I don't know. It just hurts really bad! I might have just strained it, but I'm not sure!"
Evan wasn't sure what to do. If the cheetah indeed broke his ankle, then he definitely needed to call an ambulance. But the big cat's ankle didn't look broken. It might just be a bad strain. If that was the case, then Evan could try and take him the cat back to his apartment and ice his ankle.
