Chapter #3Unprepared at School by: JStein Gaz lay in bed, tossing and turning as Morpheus' mist settled onto her. She was normally a peaceful sleeper, dreaming happily of endless pizza and video games, of not having to deal with Dib annoying her on a daily basis, of getting everything she wanted out of life. Now, however, those dreams were being torn away from her by the god's magic, her feelings of contentment being turned to dread and fear as he subconscious was drawn down into a darkness, from which a nightmare started to take shape...
...
...
...
"Gaz, wake up! No sleeping in class."
"Huh, wha?" Gaz blurted as she jerked awake. Blinking in confusion, she looked around and saw that she was in her classroom at Skool, seated at her desk, and her teacher Mr. Elliot looking down at her.
"Wait, wasn't I just at home?" she thought to herself, "Or, was I dreaming about being at home? Ugh, my head..."
"Focus please, Gaz, you only have a little time left to finish this test," Mr. Elliot said.
"Test?" Gaz echoed. Looking around, she saw that all her classmates were hunched over their desks, scribbling away at sheets. Looking down confirmed that there was one on her desk as well.
"Yes, that's right, an important test that's worth 90% of your passing grade," Mr. Elliot responded, "Better hurry up and finish it, or you'll fail the class."
Gaz felt a sudden spike of panic. A test? She didn't remember anything about having to take a test today, least of all one this important.
However, she forced herself to calm down. She didn't know how she'd ended up in this position, but it didn't matter; she was smart enough to easily deal with the super-advanced technology her dad and Zim presented on a daily basis, she could handle a test she hadn't prepared for. With that in mind, she picked up her pencil and turned her attention to her test sheet... and stared. It was as if the questions were written in gibberish. She couldn't make heads or tails of what was being asked of her, let alone figure out how to answer them.
"Is this a joke? How the hell am I supposed to answer this?" Gaz thought in disbelief, finding her usual calm cool slipping, uncharacteristic panic gripping her.
"Better hurry up, Gaz, you're almost out of time," Mr. Elliot said ominously, while Gaz's heart started to pound.
Then...
Option 1: Time is suddenly up, and Gaz fails. A dunce cap in put on her head, and everyone starts laughing at her.
Option 2: Time is suddenly up, and for failing the test, Gaz is sent to detention.
Option 3: Time is suddenly up, and for failing the test, Gaz is demoted to a lower grade.
Option 4: As Gaz panics, the dream gets worse (and a little cliche) as she suddenly realizes that she's naked, and everyone starts laughing at her.
Option 5: Something else (Reader's Choice) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
