The three cubs were busy playing with each other while Sarafina talked with her friend Sarabi about a bit of everything, how things were going in the Pride Rock, any issues with the hunting groups, the tense relationship betwween Mufasa and Scar and finally, the upcoming birth of Sarabi's son, the lion who would be destined to rule the Pride Lands one day as king just like his father.
"I'm so glad is about to be over, how did you endure this three times?"
"Hey, it hurts but it's our role, and part of the cycle of life" Sarafina chuckled
"Right, right. I admit I've been jealous of you for a bit" the queen of the Pride Lands laughed
"Of me?"
"Of you, watching your cubs growing up made me happy for you and worry about if there was something wrong with me, even if Rafiki assured us it would happen"
"I can't blame you"
"Hey!" Sarabi gave her friend a mock angry look, not expecting her to brag about her three healthy cubs like that. Both watched the young Simba and Nala playfight with each other with little Mheetu half admiring and half wanting to enter the action too, but in a more cautious way being smaller than his two siblings. As the older male sibling Simba tried to assert his dominance using his strength, but Nala was smart enough to provide him a good challenge and to constantly evade Simba's attempts to overpower her.
"Careful there" Sarafina warned when Mheetu tried to help his sister but the two siblings were getting rowdy and instead he ended up crashing against Nala's body and sent sprawling to the floor. He wasn't injured, but still Sarafina momentarily stopped the fight as she went and grabbed the cub with her mouth, walking back towards her friend.
Simba and Nala kept playfighting, relieved to not be in trouble, while Sarafina dropped Meethu between her paws and gave him a few playful licks that made Sarabi chuckle.
"You are absolutely right, I'm happier than ever thanks to them and it makes me happy that you will be experiencing the same thing"
"Thank you, Sarafina. Hopefully your son can be friends with mine" the queen smiled at her, and gave Meethu a smile once she caught him admiring her, staying quiet betwen his mother's legs.
"Of course, I'm sure they'll be great friends" Sarafina smiled and gave her son another playful lick, making him smile at the attention.
