As cool of a test as becoming a dog had been at first, the novelty of sitting around naked in someone's yard had worn off fairly quickly, especially after learning the canine you had become was apparently a girl. There was only so much you could do in an animal's life, and if something went awry with the remote, this was far from the best life to get stuck in. At least he now knew that the remote also worked on non-human targets, which would be fun to explore later on, but for now you wanted a life that wasn't confined to a stranger's lawn.
Handling the remote felt a little awkward, like you were used to using your hands like this, another consequence of the life swap it seemed, but you still managed to press the button on the remote. Just as before, time freezes, waiting for you to select your target. Glancing around, you see a few passers-by, on their way home from school or work. You don't recognise any of them though, so they were likely just passing through instead of living somewhere around here. Considering your first life swap was with a dog, you weren't certain how much your mind would be affected by the swap, leaving you to wonder how how well you'd handle a stranger's life. How much would you learn after swapping with them? Would you even be able to find your way back to their home? You could, of course, always just swap into their life to gain a more favourable vantage point. As Princess you were confined to the yard, but as a human you could go anywhere, and thus could more easily find someone else to swap with.
Of course, the passers-by weren't the only people around. The dog in your life may have disappeared from your bedroom window, but you wondered whether you might be able to spot it through one of the other windows. Thought it felt awkward and difficult, you somehow manage to stand up like a human again, hoping to spot someone inside your house. Unfortunately, the dog in your life is nowhere to be seen, but fortunately, you do manage to spot someone; your mother, Katherine. From what you can see, she seems to be cooking dinner. Swapping with her would definitely put you back in the house again, but it would probably raise a few eyebrows from your family if your mum suddenly abandoned the cooking in order to go find you. You'd probably have to live your mother's life until you could find a convenient time to swap back with yourself, which could get more than a little awkward if your father was already home. That would also leave your mother running around on all fours in your neighbour's yard, an idea you weren't sure you were fond of.
Now that you'd managed to stand up again, though, you were a little about your neighbour, or rather your owner at the moment. Turning away from your house, you manage to spot your new neighbour through the window. Apparently your owner was a young woman, and a pretty attractive one at that. Well, one of your owners was at least, you didn't know if she was single or not. Even with a reality altering remote in your hand, you were still a teenage boy at heart, and the thought of getting your hands on a body like that excited you quite a bit. Right now though, you were mainly interested in getting out of this dog's life, which presented you with a rather unique opportunity. If you became your neighbour, while everyone else would see things as normal, you'd get to live with a hot, naked woman running around as your pet. The downside, of course, was that you knew absolutely nothing about this woman. You didn't know her job, her family, friends, relationship status, nothing. She'd only moved in recently, after all. You weren't even entirely sure whether she lived alone or not. You'd be going in blind, which was both scary and exciting.
Of course, you need not limit yourself to just humans. From your vantage point within the yard, you weren't able to see any other pets, but you do manage to spot a squirrel in a nearby tree. Going from dog to squirrel wasn't much of an upgrade, but at least becoming a wild animal instead of a pet would give you enough freedom to go wherever you wanted, instead of remaining confined to just the yard. However, now that you knew the remote worked on animals, you were admittedly a little curious to see if it could work on anything else as well, inanimate objects perhaps. Would it let you, for example, swap lives with a bicycle? How would it handle that? You saw a few potential candidates lying around the street, though you were still a little hesitant, mainly because you were worried about the potential of getting stuck in an immovable form, unable to press the button to swap again.
