This choice: You Crush The Apple For It's Seeds And Plant Them So More Trees Appear • Go Back...Chapter #3A Proposal Of Fate by: XerXert You waited for quite awhile for anything to happen but strangely nothing did. No moving walls or floors, no mysterious gasses, and there wasn't even any traps that seemed to activate. You began to look around to see if maybe there was an issue with the mechanisms when you realized, why would the rest of the temple work perfectly fine, with only the last room not working. Worry began to consume you. What if you weren't meant to answer the inscription? You reread the inscription trying to find any inconsistencies you missed the first time, nothing. You took a sigh and began to walk towards the door you entered from when you realized, even that wasn't there.
"I could've sworn that the door was rig-" You were going to finish your sentence but the disappearing floor made quick work of that plan as you plummeted into the darkness.
Apparently, you weren't allowed to relax as when you woke up you found yourself hurtling through the sky as you scrambled to find out a way to slow your descent. It was a long shot but as you angled yourself to look down you noticed some trees with some pretty long leaves. If you managed to grab the leaf in time it might be enough to let you get down to the ground safely as long as you were able to prevent the whiplash that would inevitably happen. With no other obvious options presenting themselves you put your plan into the action.
KLLLLK!......FWOOP!
You barely managed to hold yourself when the whiplash happened as you were now only holding the leaf in the palm of one of your hands, you couldn't really complain though. Now then, how were you going to get down from here? You figured that maybe if you were able to grab the the leaf with your other hand, you could make your way to the main trunk which you knew usually had a rough enough texture to allow to to climb down from there. Apparently, the world didn't seem to like you today as you felt yourself slipping.
"WAIT! WAIT! NO!" No words were really going to help you in this situation so you attempted to take some action as you swiftly grabbed your rope that was attached to your belt in a vain attempt to save yourself but just like you, the rope slipped off. You didn't know what was going to happen honestly, you know, except for the fact that your fall lasted like 10 seconds.
THMP!
You flew into the air as whatever was underneath you impacted the ground. Your head waved back and forth as you tried to get the billions of blurred colors free from your mind. The mess of stupidly loud noises all around you certainly wasn't helping.
"Oh Dios Mío; Are You Okay?" came a voice that echoed around you. You swear it sounded familiar.
"Who Are You? Where Am I?"
"Generally, Specifically, or Both?"
"Both."
"My name is Tracker and you're in the jungle and..." he trailed off, "On my back." Tracker? The dog? That couldn't be right. Finally, as if on cue, you were able to see your surroundings more clearly and saw that he was correct. The fur didn't surround you necessarily, but it did reach up to your knees. The sound of a nearby stream then derailed your train of thought. You didn't know why but you wanted to find where it was.
"Hey, Tracker?"
"Uh.. Yes?" He seemed lost at how you knew his name.
"Is there a stream near here?
"Yeah actually. It's running under us right now"
"Can I see it?"
"Sure, just jump on." He raised his gigantic paw to you and you happily did as he said. You held on to his toes as he slowly lowered it to the ground. That's when you saw it. It carefully bubbled and dripped as it slowly made it's way across your line of view and at some point you could've sworn it said something. A repeated phrase.
"Those with the moral, can lead the blind through the physical. Those with the sensibility, can lead the sighted through the mental. You know what to do." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
