"Hey, this is the time of year that those shiny beetles show up ain't it?", Andrew asked.
"I think so", you answered. "We found a neat looking silver one last year."
"Oh yeah! That one with the big ol' pinchers", Andrew replied excitedly. The two of you loved looking for cool looking bugs. Your backyard wasn't the best place to look for them, since most of it was taken up by the clothesline and the shed where your mother worked on her hobbies (not to mention your sister's toys that she left out). Even with the swimming pool, Andrew's backyard was a lot bigger, and there were also a lot of bushes for bugs to hide in. Andrew headed inside his house and got a couple of plastic cases to hold any bugs the two of you found.
"Let's split up! We can find more that way!", your friend suggested.
"But... the last time..."
"Oh come on, Jack!", Andrew pouted. "That big spider only got you because you didn't call for help." 'The spider' incident happened last year when the two of you were looking for bugs. You had split up and had cornered a huge spider, easily the size of your palm and were about to catch it. It suddenly jumped on your face and slowly ate you bit by bit. You were so frightened and disgusted by what was happening that you froze in terror until the spider somehow managed to stuff all of you into it's tiny maw. Andrew found the spider (which had grown huge by that point) and kept it in a large aquarium until you were pooped out... though because no one noticed you, the spider chowed down on it's squishy meal again when you reformed until you were finally discovered a couple of days later. You wound up learning the ins and outs of an arachnid's digestive system in a rather humiliating manner.
"I can't help it!", you whined. "It's real easy for you to tell me to just call for help, but you've never had a big scary bug munching on you before!"
Andrew sighed, knowing you weren't going to stop arguing until you got him to understand. "Well, look. Stevie and his friends are supposed to be coming over later today, and they'll prolly want to come back here. So we don't have a lot of time to look."
You cringed nervously. Stevie on his own was bad enough. You didn't want to know how bad his friends would be if they got their hands on you. "Yeah... I guess you're right..."
"Okay, great! You take those bushes over in the corner of the fence, and I'll look in the ones by the house. Lemme know if you find anything, okay?", Andrew said.
"Alright!" The two of you then parted ways to try and find some creepy crawlies within the amount of time you had to look. As you start looking in the tall grass by the bushes...
