“Do you think maybe we could get something to eat?” You asked, looking at your sister’s massive face, which easily filled your entire field of vision. She smiled gently and nodded.
“Sure thing Sammy. I think I saw a food vendor just a bit over that way.” Stacy pointed behind her. Sure enough, there was a small vendor selling what appeared to be burgers and hot dogs. Stacy walked over to the vendor, careful to not move her shoulders too much and cause you to fall off onto the sandy ground. It would be disastrous if you vanished beneath the sand without a trace.
Once at the stand, Stacy placed a quick order for a hamburger and a hot dog. The vendor informed her the hot dog would take a few extra minutes to heat up, but Stacy replied that that was fine. Once receiving the hamburger, Stacy took a few small ketchup packets and hurried back over to where your mom was still fast asleep.
She placed the tray with the burger down beside her mom, and then gently deposited you beside the burger as well.
“Go ahead and start eating, I’ll wait for the hotdog.” Stacy whispered, not wanting to wake Shannon up. You nodded to signal you understood, and watched her rush back off to the food stand to wait for her hotdog.
Your stomach grumbling, you decided to not waste another second and began to bite into the burger. Of course, your miniscule status meant you only succeeded in chomping out a few bits of the bottom bun, but it was still quite filling for you. However, what you really wanted were a few bits of the hamburger itself, so you climbed up onto the bottom bun, and squeezed between the two buns to get to the burger.
While this was going on, a strong gust of wind blew through the lake. The warm scent of the delicious burger wafted through the air, and right into the nostrils of your sleeping mother. A smile slowly spread on her face, and her eyes fluttered open. Stirred from her slumber by the scent of food, she glanced to the side and spotted the tantalizing treat lying on the tray beside her.
“Mmh…” Shannon moaned, breathing in the amazing scent of the burger. “That daughter of mine knows the way to my heart!”
Though her words were muffled, you heard the voice of your mother and froze. You hadn’t expected her to wake up for several more hours. Certainly not while you were deep between the two buns of the burger, cramming your face with delicious meat. Before you could think about moving, the bun on top of you was removed, and the titanic form of your mother peered down at you.
Waving your arms, you scrambled up on top of the burger, where you figured your giantess mother would have the best vantage point over you. You jumped up and down, figuring she would spot your tiny form in just a second or two.
Unfortunately, the sun was shining bright, and directly down on the back of your mother’s head. As such, she cast a long a dark shadow over the burger, and your mother was unable to spot you in the darkness. She simply smiled happily, grabbed a ketchup packet, and ripped it open.
“Let’s add a bit of delicious ketchup first!” Shannon practically sang happily to herself. She squeezed the ketchup out, and a literal rainfall of ketchup poured onto you. You screamed, though your cries had no hope of ever reaching Shannon’s ears, as the ketchup splashed down onto you.
You were instantly forced onto your back, and partially squished as the ketchup slammed onto your tiny body. The red gooey liquid covered you up completely, totally obscuring you from view. The ketchup stung your eyes and stuck to your clothes and skin, preventing you from moving at all. The whole thing had happened so quickly you had barely had time to register what was going on, let alone react appropriately.
Shannon dumped two more ketchup packets onto the burger before she was satisfied, burying you under a thick layer of the viscous goop. She then replaced the top bun, pressing down on her burger hard. The pressure she exerted easily finished squashing you flat, and essentially sealed your fate. Hidden from sight, you knew that, unless a miracle occurred, you would be taking a one-way trip into your mother’s ravenously gurgling stomach.
Lifting the burger up to her mouth, Shannon bit into the tasty treat, sighing with pleasure. Savoring each bit, Shannon chewed slowly and deliberately, working her way around the edge of the burger and towards the inside, where you were. You could hear her gross mouth noises ever time she ripped out another chunk of the burger, knowing your fate was slowly but surely approaching. It was almost like psychological torture.
“Oh hey mom.” A different voice spoke, though the words were completely garbled and unintelligible from your meaty prison. “I didn’t think you’d be awake.”
“Hello dear.” Shannon swallowed another piece. The second voice was Stacy, back with her hotdog. Stacy sat down on her towel across from her mother and smiled. She took a bite from her hotdog, while Shannon chomped another chunk out of her burger. “You know me and food. I’ll probably fall asleep again right after I finish eating this though. I haven’t perfected my tan yet.”
“Right.” Stacy nodded, sipping from a cup of lemonade. Glancing down at the tray, she was confused to notice that you were nowhere in sight.
Shannon bit into her burger again, sad that there was only a little section left to eat. All she had left was the very middle of the burger, where her tiny son was trapped and awaiting his trip into the pit of acid she called a stomach. Shrugging, Shannon prepared to take her final bite, and unknowingly send her son down into her gut with the rest of the digesting burger bits.
“Hey mom. Where’s Sammy? He was right on the tray.” Stacy pointed to the empty tray. “He was eating the burger when I left him.”
Shannon paused, her final chunk of burger held right in front of her awaiting maw. She thought about what Stacy had said, and tried to think of a valid answer for where her one-inch tall son could’ve disappeared to.
What does she say next?
