Even in a world where monsters (mostly) dominated the world, the pictures of human children wound up on cartons of milk and juice, with the above caption underneath the picture.
Of course, said pictures were never put there by the child's parents. If a human child didn't show up at home, their parents had to accept that their child was making their way through some monster's digestive tract.
So when a human child did end up on a carton, it was because a monster was looking for said child, and usually for a fate worse than becoming a meal.
That was the reason Raina Aitamai's picture was on a milk carton. A red dragon and local crime boss by the name of Ulorasz desperately wanted Raina back. He needed her before her eighteenth birthday and with her virginity intact.
Ulorasz had even paid the gold necessary to have Raina's picture ensorcelled. If someone even thought they recognized the young woman in the picture, Ulorasz would be magically notified.
Sijjop smiled every time he thought about how desperate Ulorasz was getting, and what was going to happen to the red dragon when he failed to recover Raina before her eighteenth birthday.
Raina had initially wanted to get revenge on Ulorasz, until Sijjop explained what was going to happen to the red dragon the day after Raina's eighteenth birthday. After that, Raina was happy to let nature take its course and focus on her studies.
For the next few months, Raina studied magic and other "practical" subjects. Raina might look like a Polynesian princess with a Playboy centerfold figure, but underneath she was all badass. She was equally deadly with spells, swords and shotguns.
Sijjop declared Raina's training complete the week after her eighteenth birthday. As a graduation present, he gave Raina an enchanted "video" of what had happened to Ulorasz when he had failed to make a virgin sacrifice.
The smile on Raina's face after viewing the video was truly frightening.
