You pant hard as you make your way to the ship's reactor. It was an ambush. The Republic was trying to take out the Empire's new prototype ship. A ship that could take out any Republic ship in one hit. Making space combat fall in favor of the Empire. Attack any planet no matter how well guarded it is. But that won't happen if the Republic destroys the prototype. You don't know how they caught wind of it and you don't care. You just have to get to the reactor core and protect it.
When you got there, you saw a massacre. Lightsaber burns on the ground and walls Bodies of dead troopers. Republic and Empire. And dead Jedi and Sith. Some still holding active sabers. And in the center, at the main reactor stood one lone Jedi. You gulp and steel yourself as you approach her.
"Stop right there!" You said. She turns to face you and it's no random Jedi. You've seen holoimages of her before. She was the grandmaster of the Jedi order. Satele Shan.
"You're too late. The reactor has been overloaded and this ship will be no more. I advise you leave before the ship explodes." She said. After fighting her way through and losing her strike force one by one, Satele didn't want to add another body to the pile, but you had a job to do. Jedi or not.
"There's still time to stop it." You said. You fired a few shots, but she deflects them and in one swift motion slices your blaster in half and points her saber at you. "Blast...." You muttered.
"Your sith master is dead. There's no need to throw your life away like this. There's still time to retreat." She said, wanting you to see reason. But you can't. Or won't. The Empire can't lose this ship. If there's time to run, then there's time to stop the overload. So you pull out vibroblade and clash with her saber. You know it was suicidal to do this, but you have to do something.
Since you were a simple soldier, it was more than easy to push you away. "I don't want to fight you. There's been enough death today." You don't say anything and go at her. She blocks your strikes and push her back to the reactor. You couldn't believe that you were pushing her back. Except Satele wasn't even trying. She could have killed you with the first swing. But she's had enough killing. She's just trying to tire you out.
And it was working, you were getting exhausted. You can't keep this up much longer. So when her back was against the reactor, you go for a heavy swing which she dodged easily. But neither of you kept an eye on the reactor which was going critical. When your attack missed, it caused an explosion that blew you back.
"Argh!" You said. You hit the ground hard and are knocked out.
Satele's job was done. The reactor was going critical. The ship's detonation was imminent. She had to leave now. But before she did, she went to your body and sense for a pulse. You were alive, but just barely and knocked out. Satele breathes in relief and goes to carry you, but your body was getting smaller. Satele looked on in surprise as your body was getting smaller and smaller until it finally stopped.
Satele looked at you unconscios, small frame in amazement. But the heavy explosion knocked her back to her senses. She quickly grabbed you and hid you on her person and ran to the extraction ship. She got on board and the ships got away just in time.
With the Empire's secret weapon destroyed, it was one less thing for her to worry about. Now she has something else to replace that. The small Imperial soldier she has in her hand.
