"I bet going over to Aunt Lauren's house would be a good getaway," Jack decided. "Great!" his mom replied. "I'll get a hold of her and try and get you over there by some time tonight". Jack was reassured. Eiko hadn't been here long enough to know where Jack's Aunt lived and Mia wasn't close enough to Jack to even know where Jack himself lived, let alone his relatives.
Not long after Jack had talked with his mom, she came back and told him what was going on. "Aunt Lauren would be delighted to have you over! Funny thing is she has one of those shrink rays too, and has been looking for someone else who has one to share their knowledge with her," Carey informed. Jack was surprised. Normally, his aunt was behind in all of the new releases and advancements in technology, but something must have clicked inside her brain. Jack was even a little bit impressed.
"Awesome! That should make this experience a lot more fun than I was expecting!" Jack beamed. "I'll be taking you over there around 5:30, then you'll be having dinner with her around 7" Carey told her son. "Cool, cool. That sounds good!" Jack replied.
When 5:30 came around, Carey had already taken off with Jack to her sister Lauren's house. Jack hadn't seen his Aunt Lauren in some time and was excited to see her again, but was especially excited to talk with her about the shrink ray. Around twenty minutes after they had left, Carey and Jack arrived at Lauren's house. Lauren was already outside to greet the two, and invited them inside to hang out for a little while. Carey had to go, though, because she needed to go pick up Izzy and Lucy from their individual soccer practices. Jack grabbed his things, then waved goodbye to his mom, and followed his Aunt Lauren into the house.
Jack wasn't sure whether it was just how long it had been since he had seen his aunt, or whether he had just been not paying enough attention, but his Aunt Lauren seemed to have put on a few pounds. She wasn't overweight, but she certainly had a wide waistline and her bosom was quite perky as well.
"So, Jack, I have heard that you have gotten a hold of one of the recently released shrink rays" Lauren chatted. "Yeah, that's right. The one I have, though, only currently has two settings, and that's three inches and normal" Jack responded. "Oh that's funny, mine has an extra setting" Lauren said. Jack leaned his head in confusion, but asked to see it. Within a few minutes, Lauren brought out her shrink ray, and sure enough, it had an extra setting on it which read "One foot".
"Do you mind if we test it out on something?" Jack inquired. "Oh, not at all, Jack," Lauren gave permission. "As a matter of fact, why don't we try it out on you?". Jack hesitated a moment. "What? Why would we do that?". "Why not? I haven't yet seen someone shrink down, it would be very brave of you!" Lauren clarified. So, Jack did what he was told, and set the setting to one foot, then hit the "Switch on" button. Something seemed to have gone wrong, though, because instead of shrinking him to one foot, the machine shrunk him down to three inches instead.
"Oh shoot, the one foot setting must be under maintenance or testing or something" Jack sighed. "I suppose I should return to normal size, sorry Aunt Lauren". Before he had the chance to change back; however, Lauren picked him up and confiscated the shrink ray from him. "Aunt Lauren, what the hell?" Jack yelled. "Oh, my dear Jack, we haven't had our fun yet. Until we do, I think this is the perfect size for you" Lauren smiled. "I'm a bit drowsy, though, care to join me in a little nap?".
Does Jack join in on his Aunt Lauren's little siesta? Or does he have other plans?
