Emma tried desperately to cram the remaining limbs of her former body into the cardboard box as the approaching footsteps grew louder.
Emma managed to finally force the remaining arm into the weak cardboard box that was obviously too small... just in time too as Steven walked in as just as Emma closed the flaps to the top of the box.
Emma looked a little flustered as Steven spoke up "Come on Kiran, what's taking so long. It's really busy today and we need that shampoo." Steven asked more sternly than usual. Steven was normally fairly laid back, but today the store was unusually busy.
"Yes... shampoo, sorry Steven..." Emma stuttered in her new voice, but before she could finish her sentence, the cardboard box she hid her former body inside, split open and her lifeless middle aged body spilled out on the floor.
"Damn, I knew I should have found something stronger like a wooden crate!" Emma muttered to herself.
"Oh my god! What the hell have you done to Emma! I'm calling the police!" Steven shouted in shock.
"Wait! I can explain... I'm Emma... I've possessed Kiran's body." Emma replied slightly panicked.
"Oh no... you've clearly gone mad!" Steven said nervously as he fumbled around in his pockets, looking for his phone.
Emma knew she had no choice, the only way to convince him was to show him the rings power. She removed the ring that was still on the pinky finger of her former body charged at Steven.
"No don't kill me!" Steven screamed in fear. The whole scene looking surreal as the 5'0" tall Emma charged at the 6'0" Steven who should have easily been able to fend of the diminutive form of Kiran's petite body.
As Emma reached Steven, he put his hands up to defend himself, that when Emma slipped the ring on Steven's pinky finger.
From Emma's point of view, all she saw was Steven's body go limp and fall lifelessly to the floor with a thud.
From Steven's point of view however, he was now in a ghost form of himself, staring down at his own empty body lying on the floor, with Kiran... or Emma rather, staring down at his body with a wicked grin.
Still in shock, Steven panicked and climbed back into his own body as quickly as he could.
Steven came to as he gained control of his body, inhaling deeply as he sat up and got back to his feet.
"OK, I believe you, I believe you Kiran... I mean Emma!" Steven sputtered, his voice trembling.
Emma giggled "Well I'm not wasting anymore time. My family is away for a week, and I'm going home to enjoy Kiran's body for the next six days. Steven, why don't you find somewhere more suitable to hide my old body... and take that ring off, put it in the safe in my office.
Emma quickly rummaged around in the pockets of her former body, taking her smartphone, keys and train ticket home out of her jeans pocket, before turning around and making her way towards the warehouse doors.
"Hey wait, what about food and water for your own body?" Steven shouted out towards Emma.
Emma stopped walking and pondered "Hmmm... good question. Perhaps without a soul inside, my body won't need food or water?"
Emma carried on walking towards the warehouse doors, just as she opened them, she turned back around towards Steven "I want that ring in my safe pronto, and don't you even think about wearing my body!" She said sternly before walking out, the doors closing behind her.
Clearly Steven was still in shock, alone in the warehouse, along with Emma's empty former body. Not only was he having to take this all in, but he was also a team member down on a very busy day in the store.
