This choice: "You'll be my girlfriend." • Go Back...Chapter #47When Tina Met Tina by: Seuzz "Be my girl?" You ask the question gently, making it sound like an invitation.
Tina--Lawrence--bursts out laughing. "Ah'd like that," she says. She giggles, and then her smile fades a little. "Well, Tina would like that." She looks at you, and there's no missing the ambiguity in the glint in her eye. "Ah suppose that as long as Ah was being Tina then Ah could convince myself that Ah'd like that too." She leans over to nuzzle your neck. Frank catches your eye and cocks an eyebrow; you flush a little. Tina pulls back, and now most of the mirth is definitely gone from her expression. "Alyssa would like that too," she says in a tone that suggests that what Alyssa wants is definitely not what Lawrence wants."
"Why would Alyssa like that?" you ask.
"She thinks you need taming. Someone should tell Joe he's not as cute as he thinks he is."
It's a pretty good imitation of Alyssa, and your flush deepens. "I think I'm very cute. Which must mean I'm still plenty cute enough."
"You won't get any argument from me, sugah," she sighs, and nibbles at you again.
"I'll just put this stuff in the garage," Frank says, rising and picking up the bags. "I'd hate to watch you try to buy a used car, Joe," he says as he passes, and kicks at your foot. "With you, negotiations always wind up looking like foreplay."
"You wanna piss Alyssa off," you ask Tina after he's gone, for you've had a sudden idea. "Then be my girl, but don't be Tina."
"Be your--? Well, who would you want me to be? And Ah think Ah'd like bein' Tina," she grumbles.
"Be all of them. Be Maddy and Mandy and Natalie and even Alyssa. Flirt with me--blow me--from inside all of them."
She rears back, her mouth forming a perfect "o." "So that's what this is about. You just want--"
Well, yeah. That's Patterson's plan, after all, and the asshole has a point. "There has to be something in it for both of us," you say. "On your side, think of the trouble it would cause for them. You and me--you being them--put on some really hardcore PDAs. Word gets around. Of course, the real girls deny anything happened, but too many people would have seen."
You grin, and she grins back, and you hope your grin isn't as evil looking as hers. "Could make trouble for you, too, sugah," she observes.
"Oh, I'd just be an innocent victim of all the confusion, too," you say. "And I wouldn't follow up with the real girls. Why would I? I woulda got what I wanted. Woulda gotten it from you. Then I'd be on to the next one on the list. The next one on your list." You touch her nose.
She frowns. "So Ah wouldn't get to be Tina. Not permanently."
"Of course you could. You'd just switch into them temporarily. And being Tina would be the easiest way of scoring copies of her friends."
"Mm." She turns to gaze off into the distance. "And yoah brother? Ah make the same deal with him?"
"Your deal is with me. With Frank--" You see another angle worth playing. "Can you think of anyone else who'd like to play this game? Someone who might be willing to make a deal with Frank?" You still want Becky as a second recruit, but Lawrence might know someone who could make a third.
Her eyes widen. "Well, Ah'd have to think about it."
"You do that. In the meantime-- Hey, what are you doing back there?" you holler over her head, and she winces.
"You talkin' to me?" Frank calls back after a pause.
"Yeah! You jackin' off or something?"
"He's wound too tight for that kind of thing," Tina murmurs.
"You have been watching us, haven't you?" you laugh. You look around her head as a very grave-looking Frank appears in the doorway. "What are you doing?"
"Getting things set up," he says. "I figured you'd want to do some work, but maybe I figured wrong." He frowns at Tina.
"Yeah, I should," you sigh. "Listen, honey," you say as you stand up, and she slides off your lap. "I gotta get things set up for you. You wanna go home as Tina tonight, or do you wanna just spend the night?" As soon as you've spoken, you regret even offering the choice, for her pants have slid down, exposing the tops of some very firm and lovely thighs.
"The soonah the bettah, as fah as Ah'm concerned," she says.
"Okay. Then you can go watch TV or something while I--" You make a face, for she is already disappearing into the living room. A moment later comes the sound of the TV coming on. Well, you're only interested in the sex, not her--his--attention.

"You guys don't have people over to your place that much, do you?" Tina says as you pull up in front of the house. It's the real girl, of course.
"What makes you say that," you ask, and then laugh. "Oh, so you and the other girls have been gossiping about Frank and me's social life!"
"Well, we just haven't--" She stops and looks a little flustered.
"We'll have to have you out more often," you say, and pick up the bag of food. You'd proposed burgers, of course, but she had managed to demur and somehow had gotten you to spring for Thai instead. A greater expense than you can afford on the boys' tight budget, but you can probably get a rebate from her replacement.
She doesn't say anything as she walks with you toward the door, but you can see her scoping it out: the poky little bungalow in a rundown section of town close to the university. "Yeah," you drawl. "We don't got a real nice place like some people do."
"Ah didn't say anything, Joe," she protests, and blushes a little deeper. She looks adorable, and you nudge her playfully.
"Well, you can tell people all about it anyway. And we got the run of the place. Dad's off on a business trip, he'll be away for a couple of weeks, so it's just me and Frank." You open the door and usher her in. "So if we wanna party--" You stop cold at the sight of a grim-looking Frank, who's standing just off the entry way. "Well, maybe we'll have to get rid of this guy too." You close the door with your foot.
"Why would we wanna do that?" Tina says. "Ah like havin' a couple of good-lookin' guys around. Ah could call a couple of the girls and have 'em come over. If you all don' mind."
"We already have some company for you, sugah," a softly malicious voice says from the hallway.
You whirl: Another Tina Branson--this one quite naked--is standing there, grinning at the company.
You drop the food, and the cartons split open, spilling and splattering thick curries everywhere. "The fuck are you--?" Beside you, the real Tina sucks in a sharp breath. "Frank, grab her!" The golem steps toward the naked one. "Not that one!" You throw one arm around Tina and slap a hand over her mouth before she can start screaming. "What the fuck are you doing?" you roar at Lawrence.
"Ah wanted to see her face," Lawrence giggles. He cups his face in his hands. "It's so adoh'able. And it's going to be mine! Along with all th' rest!" He cradles his boobs.
"I told you to--!" Tina squirms in your arms. "Frank, take care of this one for me!" You hurl her at the golem, who puts her in an unnaturally strong lock. You feel your hair stand on end as you step toward Lawrence. He takes a step back, but you're too fast, and shove him so hard he falls onto the floor with a cry. You drop onto him. "I took that thing off you so we could use it to--!" Your words vanish in a gurgle of fury.
"I put it back on because I wanted to--" Tina's mannerisms vanish, and then her face vanishes as you grab at the mask and rip it away. Lawrence Farmer reappears.
"Of all the fucking stupid things to do," you growl as you wheel to advance on Tina. She shrinks back against Frank, who drops his hand so you can slam the mask onto her. She collapses in a faint. "Get her on the couch. Why didn't you stop him?"
"You didn't tell me to," Frank says coolly. "I suspected it was a bad idea, but--" He sweeps Tina up in his arms, and is so strong he can shrug while holding her.
"So I have to do the thinking for both of us, even when I'm not here. You were stupid when you were yourself, Frank, and you're even stupider as a golem."
"Are you ordering me to be stupider?" he asks with preternatural mildness.
"I can't order the impossible, or I'd order you to be smarter. Get her clothes off her. If you can bring yourself to enjoy it, so much the better." You turn away from the hooded look he gives you. "Where'd we put-- Oh, there it is." From the dining room table you snatch up the mask you'd made of Lawrence. It has all the ingredients for the golem shell inside it, and a bit of his hair is nearby. You pick it up as well, but pause before dropping it inside the mask.
You're getting rid of Tina anyway, so his boneheaded play is easily fixable. Still, you'd much rather that Tina had not seen a double of herself, for it would make it easier to reintroduce the real girl to the world, if that ever comes to pass. You're also supremely pissed at Lawrence for what he did. Maybe it would be a good idea to keep the fake Lawrence under your own control. At the very least, it would show him who's boss. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
