Chapter #4

Raven vs Korra

by: Lonly Wanderer Author IconMail Icon
It was The Beheaded "While it is a little annoying there have been a handful of times over the years where this sort of scenario has occurred, especially given neither of you seem likely to back down from your claim of your potential apprentice" he pauses, getting nods from both women "Then it is lucky magic makes travel so easy because we'll be moving to the arena for an official duel/ combat trial, the winner of which will train Morgan for the rest of their time in Exodia" he then makes several rapid hand movements Morgan fails to follow before (mentally) shouting WARP GATE and black mist blinds the boy.

When sight returns Morgan found himself sitting beside his teacher in a stadium style area, Raven and Korra standing on either side of a raised, central platform

"Think your fat ass can beat me halfling?" Korra taunts, her eyes flashing white as she grins

"Bring it brute" Raven hisses as her eyes turn blood red, Morgan shivering as a heavy wave of dark magic could be felt even where he was, though that might be due to sensitivity to that branch of magic because of his family and upbringing.

Korra strikes first, a fireball shooting across the arena, Raven crouching to dodge as she sends twins strikes of shadowy tendrils only for them to be blocked by earthen pillars

"You got anything closer range, or just shadow puppets" Korra taunts, coating her fist in stone and jumping at the demon child, who melts into her shadow to avoid the attack

"I'd say the extra bulk you tease me for gives me more shadow to work with... but that's not how this works" Raven hisses as shadow tendrils wrap around Korra's wrists and neck, before she rises from the other teen's shadow directly behind her "You don't mess with an Umbra, bitch" she hisses, only to get a sharp headbutt to the face, before getting knocked back with a blast of wind

"They're more evenly matched than I expected" The Beheaded 'says' to Morgan "Seems this might actually have been the best way to do this, given there seems to be no clearly better student" at least until Raven forms a blade from condensed shadows, grinning with too many teeth in her maw.

So who wins?

1) With a weapon and her shadows increasing her speed Raven is able to get the upper hand, forcing Korra into surrendering. Looks like Morgan will be apprenticing under an umbrakinetic half demon for the next couple years.
2) Through brute force and liberal use of fire, Korra is able to pin, and over all beat Raven, to her annoyance. The buff elemental master, will be the one teaching Morgan

You have the following choices:

1. Demon tutor

*Noteb*
2. Elementalist tutor

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
