Raven knew she needed to be careful at close range as while bending was better at longer range it was still quite dangerous up close. Korra kept trying to punch at Raven who used the shadows to charge her speed up so she could her face being smashed in. Raven soon found an opening and slashed at the brunette before teleporting away.
“Where’d you go you coward!?” Korra exclaimed, before immediately being slashed in the back by Raven who had reappeared behind Korra. The tan woman grunted in pain before letting out a blast of fire in Raven’s direction only to see that the half-demon had disappeared again, Korra knee she had to go on the defensive and started to try and get rocks to cover her body in an armor. Unfortunately Raven slashed at Korra causing rocks to fall off of her. Raven was moving to fast for Korra to take any form of action, being vulnerable to the shadowy blade. Korra soon collapsed onto her knees. If it wasn’t for the schools magic there would have been numerous slash marks on her.
“Y-you win” the elementalist said with heavy breathing, she looked up surprised to see Raven offering a hand to her “You did good, I normally don’t use a shadow blade so I was quite hard pressed and knew I had to use it.” Korra took the halflings hand and was lifted up, Raven was breathing heavily. The two girls turned when they heard clapping done by The Beheaded. “Wonderful show, Raven wins and gets Morgan as an apprentice. Korra that was a good effort, you’ll still get an apprentice of course.” The Beheaded did warp gate again, taking them back to the classroom, this time, Morgan was on Raven’s shoulder.
Thankfully there were more than a couple of options of apprentices for Korra left and she ended up picking Chihiro, a very timid boy with electric and shadow magic as well a little bit of fire, ice, water, wind and nature magic. The Beheaded knew it was a good pair up for Korra.
