This choice: Leave the room (Find more changes) • Go Back...Chapter #5Leave the room (Find more changes) by: iReed Emerald leaned into Cinder's personal space, seeming concerned at her confusion.
Strangely, Cinder didn't react to the closeness the way she normally would. Cinder was the type to her subordinates at an arms length at a minimum. Granted, Emerald had always been clingy towards her, but sitting next to her on her bed and leering into her bubble was something that Cinder would almost certainly disallow and punish. Yet, for reasons she can't fathom, she sat and did not press the issue. Cinder knew this wasn't normal but it... felt normal.
"Are you okay?" Emerald asked, "You look worried."
"Y-yes. Of course," Cinder lied. She wasn't sure what else to say. Any sense of confidence or power she would normally rely on had seemingly left her. She felt befuddled and just needed to leave.
Without another word, Cinder got up and made her way to the door. Emerald called out to ask where she was going and Mercury seemed equally as confused. She briefly called back, telling them to stay put, before shutting the door and walking down the hall.
Taking breathes, she pondered what on Remnant had happened in there. How could she have been so stupid in from of her peons?
It wasn't even like there was anything different per se. She just didn't feel like herself. She felt foreign.
Making her way out of the halls and onto campus, she noticed some of Ironwood's ships for the Vital Festival's security, a couple of students and... some grimm?
Looking around, Cinder noticed that not only were grimm swarming the place but no body was considering this weird. Even the grimm seemed different than normal: less feral; less intimidating; more friendly.
Cinder herself, despite understanding them as threats, didn't feel any panic or desire to kill them.
It was only then that she noticed that several students that she had seen were wearing uniforms that weren't part of the four academies. They were long purple/magenta coats, belted at the waist, worn with matching knee breeches, red socks and white neck bands.
Cinder was about to think it odd but, again, she couldn't help but find it commonplace.
It wasn't until this moment that she noticed that she was wearing something similar, albeit with a skirt.
What was happening? Cinder winced.
Just then... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
