Before you can enter, Lindsay sees you approaching through the glass door. Without setting the phone down, she hurriedly waves you in with her free hand. Instinctively, you rush in and quickly approach your boss's desk. Whatever she called you for must be urgent. Overhearing the conversation, it sounds like a very important person on the other line and it is best not to interrupt. you stand waiting patiently for her to finish with the call.
"Sit down." She says. You look around confused. There wasn't any chairs open, which was strange. Where did she expect you to sit? Before you can ask, she had already resumed her conversation. She snaps her fingers and points to the floor beside her.
Did she really want you to sit on the floor? It seemed like a bizarre request, but she was your boss. How could you say no? So, without a better option, you sit where she had instructed.
