A prequel to Problem Child
This choice: Cog  •  Go Back...
Dire Fog, England. A city that, at least on paper, does not exist. All those born here either have or develop extraordinary abilities or powers before their teen years. This has caught the attention of certain powerful individuals and groups who had tried to reap the powers of our citizens. Like before, this brought the need for freedom fighters.

I am Devon Reddick; my sister, Ali and I were born in Waterfront City, USA. This city also does not exist and has the same strange history. Our powers were awakened during a car accident. Details aside, Ali discovered she had the ability to turn back time which saved us all. It came at a price, however; every second she turned back the clock, she would regress one month in age. Needless to say, she rarely uses her powers in fear of regressing out of existence.

As for me, I have a different power and price. I can slow down time and even work outside of time. The price I pay is that I do not age beyond fourteen and because I exist outside of time, I can not touch another living being without heavy concentration. I am a chronologically obscure ghost, thus my hero name, Cog.

Over the years, I had moved to Europe where I found myself living in Dire Fog while Ali remained in Waterfront City. I have founded the freedom fighter group The Cloaked Dagger while she had taken on the hero name of Rewind. Last I heard, she was aiding the newest freedom fighter group there, the Problem Child Gang.

I looked up from my journal to my cellphone ringing. I answered on the third ring.

"Talk to me..."

"There has been a break in at the Founder's Museum." Softly, a feminine voice replied. "Only nothing was taken; something was added."

"Sounds like a message from Carlos." Frowning, i said. "Alert the team; we'll see if we can solve this mystery before he strikes."

After ending the call, I turned to a photo of my sister on my desk. "I wonder how your day is starting, sis..."
