Almost ten years after the last Harry Potter movie premiered, five actresses from the series gathered in a small township not too far from Vancouver, Canada. It was by luck that ---
Well, maybe more design than luck, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, shall we?
Anyway, five alumni of the movie series found themselves in a small town in British Columbia.
The five actresses had kept up with each other over the years, mainly through social media. Things were friendly between the five, but with the exception of Katie Leung and Afshan Ashad, they never actually talked or saw each other in person (Katie had been part of the bride's party for Afshan's wedding that never happened).
So all five were delighted to find themselves together for a weekend, even if the small town they found themselves in didn't afford them a wide variety of dining and entertainment venues.
Emma Watson was in the small town finishing up a movie. Afshan Azad, who was reinventing herself as a youtube channel producer and social media influencer, had traveled to the town to listen to an idea being pitched by the leaders of the town's commercial sector. Afshan had convinced Katie to come with her. Anna Shaffer was in the town to film a series of short web episode supposedly related to her role in the series The Witcher, though considering that the series itself was being filmed in Central and Eastern Europe, no one was sure how that was working.
In nearby Vancouver, Tiana Benjamin was involved in post-production of a fil=m she had been part of. When she learned four of her fellow Harry Potter alum were in a nearby town she wasted no time in joining them.
That night, in the town's only upscale restaurant, the five women were relaxing and enjoying catching up. Granted, with the exception of Afshan and Katie, the five actresses had been friendly but never really that close with each other. But there was something in the air that somehow made it easy for all five women to feel comfortable around each other.
As the five women ate, drank, talked and laughed with each other, they were being watched by a pair of thoughtful eyes. Eyes that knew quite a bit more about magic than the five theatrical witches could ever dream of knowing. And that magical knowledge was about to come to bear on
