Queen Eris - Ruler of the city of Valdraga, and the first queen of the city in centuries. To her own subjects, she is largely seen as a great ruler, but to the other two dwarven cities and those on the surface, she is a tyrant. Primarily because she repealed the city's anti slavery law, making Valdraga the only one of the dwarf kingdoms to allow the ownership of slaves, as long as said slaves are not other dwarves. This means that humans, elves and anthronians alike have been kidnapped from the surface and forced into servitude for their new masters. She even ordered the construction of a grand arena to entertain her subjects with various events and gladiator battles.
Matilda Jurgen - Owner of a tavern in Thornog, known as the Drunken Dragon. Famous throughout the three kingdoms and even on the surface for her homemade recipe for mead, travelers from everywhere have come to her tavern for a taste of her fine brew. All sorts of interesting faces pass through, from adventurers to traders and anything in between. The royal family has commissioned Matilda to craft a very special type of mead for the new king's coronation, and she's spent weeks testing different recipes and techniques. If she impresses them enough, she may even be offered a deal with the surface kingdoms.
Hilda Morgrack - One of the few surface dwarves that isn't a criminal on the run. She was actually part of the royal family of Ragnabal, but fled from an arranged marriage to a prince she didn't love. She now works as a milkmaid of a human owned farm, her employers unaware of he royal blood. Despite living a life of luxury until now, she rather enjoys her new job on the farm, tending the livestock and planting the gardens.
Helga the Lioness - A famed mercenary, banished from the underground for her fiery temper and habit of getting thoroughly drunk in public, which often lead to fights and in one case, killing another dwarf that assaulted her, she roams the surface taking whatever work she can get, be it protecting caravans or acting as a bodyguard for some royal welp.
