Each division contained numerous towns and cities to visit, each unique in appearance and atmosphere, yet united by its capital, Lumiose City, located near the point where all three divisions meet. It was there where harmony between human and Pokémon blossomed. Where many Pokémon enthusiasts came to live and play alongside their favourite creatures, as the big layout of the city accommodated the massive influx of tourists every year. A feeling of anticipation washed over you as you thought about meeting new people and catching Pokémon. There was no doubt in your mind that this region was full of surprises and adventures.
The ship continued on its way towards Coumarine City for several hours, making steady progress across the waves but you found yourself bored in your cabin, unable to do much except stare out the windows. You didn't know anyone onboard yet besides your travelling companion and weren't sure if you'd have any friends when you got there. Still, you couldn't help but think about how amazing it would feel to finally get there and explore the area for real. The explorative genes in you eventually urged their way into your mind, and you decided to enjoy a walk around the cabin deck to find a way to pass the time.
After walking along the upper level, you stopped by the railing overlooking the sea and gazed upon the endless expanse below, watching the occasional fish swim past underneath you. You leaned forward and stared down, wondering what was under the water. What kinds of Pokémon lived beneath the surface? Were there any underwater caves that you could go exploring in? Maybe even some hidden treasures lying deep beneath the surface?!
Your imagination ran wild and you stood there staring out into the distance for longer than intended, before noticing that someone was staring back at you from the other side of the rail. They seemed familiar somehow, though you couldn't tell where from.
"I'm sorry, did I disturb you?" they asked politely.
"No," you replied, as you glanced at the nametag written on their shirt, spelling out a name...
