This choice: It's just a crew member... • Go Back...Chapter #4Kickstarting It in Kanto by: Triple   The sound of your stomach growling loudly interrupted your quiet alone time out on the front deck, reminding you of how hungry you were getting and how much time had passed since you ate something. It was getting late so you decided to go find yourself some food inside before heading to bed in your cabin.
As you turned around and headed towards the nearest exit, you felt someone tap your shoulder, startling you slightly. Out of instinct, you accidentally slapped the unfortunate individual from behind you; a fairly tall man dressed in white who you can only assume is a ship steward.
"Sorry about that!" the man apologised. He smiled slightly, "I didn't mean to scare you or anything. I just wanted to let you know that dinner service is starting soon if you're interested in grabbing a bite before heading to bed."
You were surprised by the convenience of his kind offer, and nodded eagerly. You followed him back inside the ship, heading towards a dining room. You entered and found several other people already sitting there eating their meals, chatting amongst themselves. You quickly adjust yourself and find an empty seat nearby, waiting for someone to bring out the food. As you sit patiently, your eyes wander around the room and scan the many different faces that surround you. Some look nervous, others are smiling, some are angry and others bored. But all of them were on the same boat as you both literally and figuratively.
Eventually, the food is brought out by a few waiters and waitresses and you tuck in. You didn't know what type of meat (as long as you weren't eating an Eevee, you were fine) you're eating, but the food tastes really good, making it worth waiting for. Soon after, the patrons gradually disperse to their own cabins, leaving you and a few others who are either too tired to care or are staying up late like yourself. After finishing your meal, you decide to retire to your cabin for the evening. That night, you slept almost right away.
The next morning went by without any issue as the boat continued the rest of its journey across to its destination. In fact, you barely even noticed the passage of time flow by so fast that when the announcement came that the boat would be docking soon, you were caught off guard by the news. After packing everything into your backpack and grabbing a snack, you went back outside to enjoy the scenery before the ship finally stopped at Vermilion City.
After a short while, the ship came to a stop and you disembarked onto dry land, looking around excitedly as you stepped foot onto Kanto soil. Your heart pounded heavily in your chest and your stomach was doing flips at the thought of all the different adventures that lay before you. The region may be a bit too old-fashioned for some people, but for you it was an opportunity to begin your Kanto Pokémon journey.
